Even if one believes and advances the extraordinary and thus-far unsubstantiated claim that LLMs work as advertised, ethics still places the onus on AI proponents to consider how LLM technology is likely to be developed and deployed *in practice* should appropriate regulation and oversight not be applied.

I'd like to have a backup account, and I think snac would be fun to try out.
My favourite thing in the whole Fediverse is when I get a notification that someone has edited a toot I favourited or boosted months ago. Like, something in that toot has been bugging them for half a year. A comma that could've been a semi-colon. A spelling mistake they belatedly spotted. Some good information they wish they'd put in the Alt Text. And thanks to the magic of Mastodon, they can just fix it now, all these months later. I feel happy for them, knowing they can sleep soundly again.
Needed a bit of an outlet for some worries going round in my head, so I managed to type up a small blog post about how my hands have been in (more or less) pain for a month.

So. Premier of Alberta is claiming to be on a diplomatic mission, asking the US, via Breitbart(!?!!)not to drop the whole stupidity of tariffs, but to delay them until after an election?
She is actively requesting a foreign country interfere in a Canadian election.
So that country can benefit from the future compliance of the right-wing fringe, presumably electable if tariffs are scheduled for May, and which will not do anything further to defend Canadian sovereignty.
