Did you know that the default video file size limit on #Mastodon is 99 MB per post?
For comparison, #BlueSky has a 50 MB limit per post up to 60 seconds long and #Gab has a 50 MB limit PER DAY (unless you give Andrew Torba money).

It also has big benefits but we are so used to criticizing billion-dollar corporations who are saving like 0.01% on their gross margins by being shit at accessibility that we use the same language to confront people whose entire budget (in time, money, or both) would be immediately destroyed by even a cursory accessibility effort
@glyph Yes, when it comes to visual media in particular, I'm aware that, for example, when I watch a movie that has an audio description track, the only reason we're able to enjoy that is because the likes of Disney can easily afford that extra work. The same goes for accessibility in video games; the big studios can afford to put extra work into accessibility, but indie developers often can't, depending on the kind of game.

Hey Stefano, I was just browsing through the themes of BSSG and I noticed that some stutter quite significantly while scrolling and also cause a huge spike in CPU load, while others are buttery smooth.
Win7 is an example that at least on my machine stutters pretty badly:

I haven't talk about it much publicly, but I'm building a social network. It's based on RSS feeds you can style with HTML and CSS. I'm at the point where I need to start gathering feedback.
This post is my initial prototype for handling CSS. If you're interested, take a look and let me know what you think.
@evanEvan Prodromou tried it (not very hard, but tried it). Downloaded it (1GB), installed it (5GB) on admin mode on windows. Cannot use it by other users (weird). No documentation, not even on the admin user, didn't manage to make a single query. Uninstalled it. Perhaps it is great, but the UI has to improve.
