過程中Philip多次被微軟工程師聯絡查詢，Philip一度以為對方希望合作，結果之後沒有了下文

當時他認為微軟只是把工作重點放其他地方，直到他出席巴黎KubeCon，赫然發現微軟推出功能類似、名為Peerd的專案，Peered的README僅有一行字感謝Philip分享Spegel的經驗

Philip還屢屢收到使用者詢問Spegel和Peered的差異

這個經歷讓Philip打算修改Spegel的授權條款

Getting Forked by Microsoft

Three years ago, I was part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters for end user customers. A main source for downtime in customer environments occurred when image registries went down. The traditional way to solve this problem is to set up a stateful mirror, however we had to work within customer budget and time constraints which did not allow it. During a Black Friday, we started getting hit with a ton of traffic while GitHub container registries were down. This limited our ability to scale up the cluster as we depended on critical images from that registry. After this incident, I started thinking about a better way to avoid these scalability issues. A solution that did not need a stateful component and required minimal operational oversight. This is where the idea for Spegel came from.

在大公司做事用公司扛棒搶到專案，但內容卻去搬開源人的辛苦成果還處處刁難，用開源沒問題，那也是開源的本意，但用這假冒完全從頭開發，不就買空賣空過水轉賣，如果標案當初就講白用開源只做設置，標金天差地遠吧

We explored a lot of more experimental approaches when we designed this, such as a “Web of Trust” where users can directly vouch for each other. We’re still testing ideas in this area. Trust doesn’t just come from one signal — it’s built up from many overlapping ones.

What we’ve launched today is the first step for how we’re going to evolve verification. The initial set of trusted verifiers includes news orgs who’ve agreed to take on the task of verification for their journalists. In the future, this set will expand, as well as how apps can choose to use them.

On Bluesky, identity is now confirmed by two overlapping tools: • Domain names • Verification by one of the trusted verifiers Both techniques give a different kind of signal, with their own benefits, and I believe we can do more.

In atproto – the open network we’re built on – anybody can publish verifications. In the Bluesky app, Bluesky chooses whose verifications to show. This means that other apps could choose a different set of trusted verifiers, or use a different model entirely.
