hard to fix Tusky bug 😒
So here is my call for help: If you see this bug again or have seen it recently, please tell me everything that could help me track it down.
• What did you do before it occured?
• Which Device and Android Version?
• How many and which instances are you connected to?
• How was the network connection?
• Did you change any Tusky settings from their default?
• Any weirder than usual posts in your timeline that could have glitched the app?
• etc

Verification ≠ labeling. One implies consent, the other doesn’t. Until that difference is codified in the protocol, the feature falls short of meaningful trust.
Decentralized identity should mean you control who gets to speak for you. Verification without consent opens the door to abuse, impersonation, and misinformation.
Proposal: make verification acceptance part of endorsement. The verifier creates the record, the subject creates a counter-record to accept. No acceptance record? No verification. Simple, verifiable, consensual.
Labels in ATProtocol are already unilateral. Now, verification is too. There’s no handshake, no confirmation, no recourse. Trust systems require mutual agreement, not just a published opinion.
Verification should be bi-directional. If I didn’t approve your claim about me, it’s not verification, it’s assertion. ATProtocol needs a consent model for identity trust.
Bluesky’s new identity verification system creates a record with a subject + display name. Cool idea, but it’s missing something critical: consent. Anyone can "verify" anyone. That’s not trust, it’s just labeling.

That's why putting it under the app.bsky NSID feels like a missed opportunity. It frames verification as app-specific, when in reality, it's a protocol-level concern.
You’re right, @dame.is - Bluesky can design what works for their app. But verification plays a foundational role in trust and safety, just like labeling does. That makes the design choices here matter beyond one app.

자주 하는 생각인데, 터프들의 믿음과 달리 트랜스젠더이기에 더 첨예하게 인식할 수 있는 여성혐오도 있다. 많은 사람이 '연애나 성관계에 있어 남성 혹은 "남성 신체"가 리드하는 역할을, 여성 혹은 "여성 신체"가 팔로우하는 역할을 맡는다'는 상정에 별 의심을 품지 않는다. 크게 불쾌한 일이라고 생각하지도 않는다. 하지만 "여성 신체"를 가진 논바이너리인 나는 사람들이 "여성 신체"의 역할이 피지배, 피가학, 피삽입임을 아무 의구심 없이 확신하는 게 늘 두렵고 역겨웠다.
