@btconfbeyond tellerrand got me thinking about the things I touch every day, about my own curiosity, remembered AI is both greedy and extremely useful, saw mad things can be done without AI, that I should just get on and make stuff, saw the web as an art medium, and the artistry in lettering, saw creativity in development, and inclusiveness, and calm, and empathy.
I loved it all - never change, #BTConf.
One of the things I touch daily is my phone, but it is also a great life and curiosity enabler 😊

As part of a v2 of my last #startrek #arduino tricorder build, there are multiple things i'd like to improve. I think one of my biggest aesthetic problems has been solved. The v1 build relies on 6 visible screws at the top of the body, and there's no black "cap" on the top part of the shell. I've managed to design a piece that can print in PLA where prongs clamp onto a revised PCB. The clamps cause the PCB to be pulled against new tabs on the inside of the body.

老話一句：平台設計確實會形塑它的社群氛圍啊。

Search engines have gotten so much worse. I keep trying to search for one simple thing in both DDG and, as a fallback, on Google, but I keep getting the exact opposite of what I'm searching for.
I've been doing this almost as long as the public internet has existed, I know I don't suck at finding things. It's just that search engines have gotten really, really bad.

@simonSimon Willison I’m trying to run an agentic workflow with a local model. So far I’ve tried deepseek coder, qwen, codellama and gemma without much luck. Do you maybe have a better experience with a certain model or is this just not there yet with local LLMs?
