The beta is out, so it's time for What's new in Python π: iscinumpy.dev/post/python-314/ (also it's time to start adding it to CI and adding classifiers if it works!)

Python π

Python π (3.14) beta 3 is out, which means the features are locked in (normally beta 1, but two additions were made exceptionally in beta 3!). The big feature this time around is template strings. There’s also lots more color (including syntax highlighting in the REPL!), remote debugging, deferred evaluation of annotations, and the usual error message and performance improvements. Subintepreters are now accessible without the C-API (finally!), and free-threaded Python is no longer experimental.

The Yukon River at Ft. Yukon broke up Tuesday with minor flooding from an ice jam that released overnight into Wednesday morning. The breakup front remained stalled at 6 Mile Island below Ft. Yukon as of early Wednesday afternoon while water levels have continued to drop at Ft. Yukon. The water that has been carrying the breakup front has continued downstream and is helping to lift and shift the ice between Ft. Yukon and Beaver; however without a pulse of water from upstream breakup may be slowed for a few days. The timing of the breakup front reaching Stevens Village and the Dalton Highway bridge could be anywhere from 1-5 days. The River Watch team plans one more flight to this reach on Thursday to monitor the progression and will provide updates as information becomes available.

데블스 플랜 시즌2 1~2화 감상 (간접적 내용언급)

시즌1에서 궤도 출연자의 칸자키 나오 (라이어게임)식 공리주의(…)나 지니어스게임 임요환의 소위 가버낫이라고 불렀던 상금 최대화 전략이 지배하게 되어 게임의 긴장감이 없어지는 걸 해결하기 위해, 복잡도가 높아지더라도 불신과 배신을 조장하는 게임 디자인을 해서 자연스럽게 파벌을 나누려는 노력이 보였다.
나는 게임 외의 기믹은 절제하거나 없애고 순수 게임플레이로만 승부를 하는 걸 보고 싶은데, 게임 외 휴식시간에서의 이야기를 만들고 더 많은 변수가 담긴 스토리를 설계하려다보니 전략적으로 계속 사용하는듯;

My company is using Jira to manage cafeteria lunches.

To order lunch, you move a lunch "issue" on a particular day to the "orders" column and this triggers your order for lunch on this day.

I am going to order LUNCH-1139 Vegan Spaetzle.

I really think TeleMessage had no clue of what they were doing.

Between the lack of transcript consistency guarantees and the deniability aspects of Signal, they were really overselling the solution they thought they were providing.
