You all may have heard of a leak referred to as "the mother of all breaches" the last day or so.
I am here to tell you, that it is not.
It's not even a new data breach. In fact, it contains information from YEARS ago.
This is the kind of frenzy baiting that needs to stop.
Now, is it possible that there are people affected? Yes.
But, the best thing to do in these situations is to not panic. And change the passwords you suspect either;
May be compromised, or
May EASILY BE compromised.
Also use a password manager, like BitWarden, And multi-factor authentication.
TL;DR: The "mother of all breaches" is something you probably don't need to concern yourself with. But remain calm and change your passwords if you are feeling iffy.
No, the 16 billion credentials leak is not a new data breach
News broke today of a "mother of all breaches," sparking wide media coverage filled with warnings and fear-mongering. However, it appears to be a compilation of previously leaked credentials stolen by infostealers, exposed in data breaches, and via credential stuffing attacks.

addictive screen use isn't leading to mental health issues in the youth, it's a symptom.
society increasingly doesn't care, so kids are trying to compensate.
that doesn't mean that commercial social media isn't designed to be addictive. the truth is that kids not properly cared for will be addicted to _something_. it's just another thing to get addicted to, which is easily accessible and doesn't raise immediate suspicion.
if it wasn't media consumption, it would be booze, weed or something else.

As I was plannig to spend some time in my home town and I wanted to gift something of immediate tangible benefit to my mother, I decided to bring some sourdough starter with me.
At home I always leave bread making in the expert hands of my partner so this was an opportunity to learn and teach at the same time.
We had a very detailed recipe (also courtesy of my partner) and as you can see everything went fine.
