Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.
In my toot yesterday I used "App" as example, as that's the dominant way we think about the software we build. A very overloaded concept, #FOSS apps functionality is highly influenced by the dev process that creates them: mostly ad-hoc issue-driven design-by-consensus. Which naturally finds a more tech-oriented audience, based as it is on code forge tooling.
#SocialExperienceDesign covers the entire lifecycle of a Solution and how it interacts with other solutions.
Back in March I scanned through a terabyte of old geocities sites with the goal of finding *all* the 88x31 buttons. Recently, I realised that I didn't scan for all the geocities subsites (e.g. de.geocities.com, br.geocities.com, etc). I've fixed that mistake and have added 1.8k new 88x31 buttons from Germany, Brazil, Hong Kong and many more international sites. For the past year I've been working on an activitypub federated instant messenger called Shoot.
I haven't had time to work on it for a while because of my job, so I'm making it public to see if anyone would be interested in helping out.

Featureset currently includes:
- Dm channels
- Friends/relationships
- Guilds
- Guild channels
- Guild invites
- Voice calls (not yet federated)
- Mostly working federation with itself
- Iffy federation with other platforms
There's no official instance yet, but I could host one if there is interest.
What I need help with most is:
- Frontend development. The client code is very hacky and gross, let alone the UI haha
- Safety features
- Probably general architecture stuff
