都知事選の期間、毎日駅前を歩いていたので演説する候補者の様子はよく見ていた。
杉並には再生の道から3人出ていて、その二人が立っている日が印象に残った。チラシやノボリも拡声器もなく、石丸伸二の演説テープを流す運動員が一人いるだけの慎ましい運動だったけど、候補者の二人が腐らず仲良さそうにしてたのはホッとするものもあり、また、それなりの票を集めたところが不安でもあった。
参院に出れば一つか二つは議席が取れるだろうなあ。

If I said "I love #Mastodon--though I am biased", I would be very surprised the hashtag got turned into "Mastodon though". Some people don't bother to double dash and use a single dash for the same purpose.

Ugh, everytime new #SmartGlasses are presented masses of people are crooning how absolutely cool that is. Think about it a bit more, folks, I'd say.
The moment smart glasses become well accepted and pervasive in society, is the moment we know that shite really hit the fan, and we are deep in dystopia.
It is not unthinkable we get a high adoption rate, if those #AR info overlays provide real use to people.
Compare to driving from A to B which hardly anyone can do anymore withouth #Google Maps.

I hope you had a nice weekend.
I spent the vast majority of the past two months in full time filmmaking mode, for my Fedi promo video.
Now that the French (https://news.elenarossini.com/fedivers-video/) and the Italian (https://news.elenarossini.com/fediverso-video/) voice-over narrations are complete, I can finally resume my self-hosting adventures.
On the agenda for later this week: updating the version of my Ghost installation, which is something I am genuinely self-hosting, without the help of YunoHost...
I already did it once a couple of months ago, but now the stakes are higher because I'm getting hundreds of visits every day (since publishing the Fedi promo video).
Second item on my to do list: figuring out how to log onto #NextCloud from my mobile phone (the iOS app keeps spinning when I enter my server name).
I'm just really grateful to be able to do all this... A mere 6 months ago it would have seemed impossible.

Dear @GargronEugen Rochko — Can we take another, fresh look at https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/20694 ? Hashtags should ultimately support full UTF8, IMHO, but adding at the very least the dash would be very helpful. It's not just band or artist names. CVEs are a better example. It would be really helpful when I can use #CVE-2025-6019 instead of #CVE20256019 as I am forced to do now. I guess hashtags are not in scope of the ActivityPub protocol, @evanEvan Prodromou ?

@taylanTaylan (Feminist Reply Guy) @sarajwSara Joy there is no transgender movement. Nobody is asking you to support an abstract cause. There's just people who want to be allowed to be who they are.
Whether they've always known, or whether they've had a long period of self-discovery, they are who they are and we can accept it at face value. We don't need to know the trials they've been through to acknowledge where they are now. This is as true for gender as it is for any other aspect of who someone is.
Secondly, I've never seen, experienced, or even heard about a single significant problem caused by the fact trans folk exist. Every single time someone has pointed to something that might be, it has turned out to be because of transphobia, or because of something unrelated.
Finally, if there is broad expert consensus on something, I think you need to have a really good reason to disagree. There is broad expert consensus across psychologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, researchers, surgeons, and anybody who has spent time around trans people that trans women are women, trans men are men, and non-binary identities are real and valid. "I don't get it" is not a good argument against the weight of evidence they have gathered in papers, statistics and experience.
It's been shown over and over that trans people do far better in life when people just accept them for who they are. That alone should be enough for anyone. If it isn't, why not?
