LONDON/DAKAR (Reuters) -The African Union has backed a campaign to end the use by governments and international organisations of the 16th-century Mercator map of the world in favour of one that more accurately displays Africa's size. Created by cartographer Gerardus Mercator for navigation, the projection distorts continent sizes, enlarging areas near the poles like North America and Greenland while shrinking Africa and South America. "It might seem to be just a map, but in reality, it is not," AU Commission deputy chairperson Selma Malika Haddadi told Reuters, saying the Mercator fostered a false impression that Africa was "marginal", despite being the world's second-largest continent by area, with over a billion people.

trying out niri and I'm having a blast with it :3

I just dyon't understand how to make xwayland-satellite work. Tried both on arch and openSUSE Tumbleweed, with and without nvidia, and a friend also had problems with it. And it sounds like it just works for other people? Dunnyo what we're missing. I'm trying to find out but if someone happens to knyow, pwease expwain ​:neocat_heart:​

☕ Good Morning Homelabs ☕

Freitagsgrußküsse von dem 💤 verschlafenen 🌞 annnyway, new place, new in-wall panel of cat6 terms and a 5GbE symmetric fiber line. I cleaned up the initial mess in June, second iteration this past week/ish. Generally, most of this hardware should be in one of the office racks (1U switch + 2x 0.5U patches + 1U UPS), specifically NOT in my walk-in closet. It's a work in progress.

first iteration of the telco panel rebuild, just a bit messyin-between iterations, the OnQ parts arrived so mostly everything was removed. the two fiber boxes (shitty Comcast, and decent ATT) have to stay put.iteration number two, not horrible, needs more ethernet cable management and etc etc

I have dabbled with a many programmable keyboards in the past, but I'm currently using keyd, which lets you replicate much of QMK without the need for a special keyboard. It works at a low level too, so it works everywhere including the console. Anyway thought I'd mention it in case you wanted to add a note to your post. github.com/rvaiya/keyd

Progress towards universal Copy/Paste shortcuts on Linux

On Linux, Control-C and Control-V don't work for copying and pasting in terminals. The Control modifier is used for its original purpose of inserting control codes. Instead, terminal apps require an extra Shift modifier, like Control+Shift+C. But what if there were hidden shortcut combos for copy and paste
