Apparently this requires restating:
We should not want a European Palantir.
We should not want an open-source Palantir.
We should not want a non-commercial Palantir.

If it is supposed to do what Palantir does, we should not want it.

And I don't care to what extent Palantir's products are shaped by political or profit motives. We know enough to reject its logic altogether.

If you follow the discourse, you can already see on the horizon a group of fascist nerds providing the open-source non-profit version of Palantir, with data centres on European soil, fostering "digital sovereignty" and making the work of European police, Frontex and so on more "effective".

Good luck arguing with that if your main criticism with Palantir is the US state or Thiel's person.

I thought I'd better lay in some tea before the import situation in the US becomes intractable. Luckily brick tea lasts forever. Along with a couple of bricks I got this nice pu-erh wrapped in a bamboo leaf. Not only is it cute, it's delicious. Very earthy with woodsy and floral notes. Thanks Jinglong Tea Factory!

I'm holding a stack of small tea disks wrapped in a dry bamboo leaf and tied with twine.

Laplap

On the island of Malakula, this resident sprinkles coconut milk over a dish (laplap) of still-steaming meat and tubers, cooked in banana leaves in a traditional oven of hot stones set up in the garden. The contrast between the vegetable dish placed on a mat and the stylish interior of the residence illustrates the new way of living in .

AFAICT, most people don't want to write in HTML. (Not directly anyways.)

But, even for the ones that would write in HTML, I suspect they will feel something like this is too much to do to create a quotation and citation.

Only a very small group of power-users might be willing to write that type of HTML + RDFa. Maybe.

I have a fanless thin client arriving in the next couple of days (snagged it for $35!). The original plan was to port over my existing OpenBSD desktop, but I’ve been eyeing elementaryOS for a while now.

I remember playing with version 6 back in the day and quite enjoying it. Might test it out first before fully committing to OpenBSD right away 😛
