When chat control is really so harmless and reliable that there will be no false positives and all data is just checked locally on your phone so that your privacy is granted, why does EU‘s plan for chat control provide exceptions for European politicians and members of investigating authorities? Assuming they aren’t doing anything illegal, what do they have to hide? Or maybe the process of scanning all private communications isn’t as safe and confidential as it’s said to be?

The crates.​io team was notified of two malicious crates (with similar names as legitimate crates) which were actively searching file contents for Etherum private keys, Solana private keys, and arbitrary byte arrays for exfiltration. The malicious crates have been removed.

What is really interesting about this deal is that they they are not selling TikTok, they are leasing the algorithm.

Again, they will be paying ByteDance, the Chinese owner of TikTok, for the ability to influence US based TikTok users.

They are not even trying hide that what is valuable is algorithmic manipulation.
