查一查維基，香港對上一次有過百人死傷嘅火災已經去到1945年。

八十年後嘅今日，明明有錢咗、科技進步咗、居住環境明明應該要改善咗，然後可以發生一件咁大型嘅火災事故。火警鐘八座都唔響，維修物料安全性存疑而居民投訴無門，被迫攞咁大舊錢出嚟去維修，本應該係安樂窩嘅地方成為焗死燒死居民嘅牢籠。

今年係2025年呀，人禍呢家嘢係正正反映咗技術進步咗、有錢咗都好，都隨時可以可怕過天災。就算我地抵擋到越刮越大嘅風球，都敵不過包藏貪腐嘅禍心。

페타픽셀에서 RF 45mm f/1.2를 리뷰. 한국, 중국산 서드 파티 저가 단렌즈들을 언급하면서 그 렌즈들은 이상한 부분이 있거나 캐릭터가 강한 면이 있는데 이 렌즈는 그런 점이 적으면서도 싸서 좋다고 평가. 가격대를 초월하는 슈퍼 렌즈는 아니지만 여러모로 쓰기 좋다고.

Big update to the annotated edition of G.H. Hardy's ‘A Mathematician's Apology’: the PDF is now *tagged* (plus various minor improvements).

(A contains extra semantic information to assist screen-reading software etc.)

The new version is available ( as always) at archive.org/details/hardy_anno

The LaTeX tagging system is still under development [latex3.github.io/tagging-proje], but I have been making progress in adapting my LaTeX styles to be tagging-compatible.

For the annotated ‘Apology’, I also had to re-implement a subset of the functionality of the "manyfoot" package (which is currently not tagging-compatible), because there are two different kinds of footnotes in the annotated ‘Apology’. (Hardy's original footnotes and the annotations.)

Although the PDF passes VeraPDF validation, there may of course be mistakes in the tagging. Feedback, especially from users of screen readers, would be much appreciated, especially because I now hope to add tags to ‘Form & Number: A History of Mathematical Beauty’ [archive.org/details/cain_forma].

Classical poet Ovid once asked each one of his friends to choose, from a poem of him, three verses they considered the worst and that were to be deleted; also, he told them that he also had chosen three verses himself that were not to be deleted, no matter what. When they finally met, it was found that everyone, even Ovid himself, had selected the same three verses. Seneca the Elder tells this story to explain that authors know the problems about their own works, but that they don't bother to fix them. He does not explain further if this is because creators know better or because they are arrogant boneheads.

There is a different telling of this story that says that, when everybody met, nobody had chosen the same verses; because of this, after deletion, the poem was left with only three lines, the ones chosen by Ovid. He was not upset, though, because he saw it coming: the slaughtered text showed Latin words for "My friends are a bunch of hateful motherfuckers".
