Some weeks ago I posted a photo of this same scene with only the grazing horse. But the scene had more to offer: one more horse and, unintentionally, a bit more story.

I never go looking for stories in my photos; if they appear at all, I usually discover them afterwards. This time, the story was looking right at me. The second horse had noticed me long before I realised I was being watched. I was completely focused on the grazing one and only found my observant spectator later, while reviewing the images.

can you think of any way a proc-macro might be able to call into another proc-macro?

(the main proc macro from a crate like `facet` and the other is from a crate like `facet-thirdparty`, which `facet` doesn't know about or depend on at compile time)

Yes, sure, things look like they aren’t going so great for Apple’s executives lately. But I’m sure that you, a rank-and-file employee, can think of some perfectly legal thing to do, or not do, that could make it just a tiny bit worse.

Turned on the new "Code Quality" feature that seems to be some extended CodeQL + AI.

It's actually worse than anything gave us. That actually gave really good reports on code smells, regressions and coverage failure. It was reliable.

It really does appear tech companies are replacing everything with expensive, resource intensive systems that give worse results and expect us to pay more @pluralisticCory Doctorow

Miller et al. document e.g., that *unrealistic productivity expectations* completely change how someone interprets the meaning of the tool, workplace, and role expectation interaction. This is exactly what I predicted too. We keep converging on this.

"Maybe We Need Some More Examples:" Individual and Team Drivers of Developer GenAI Tool Use

Despite the widespread availability of generative AI tools in software engineering, developer adoption remains uneven. This unevenness is problematic because it hampers productivity efforts, frustrates management's expectations, and creates uncertainty around the future roles of developers. Through paired interviews with 54 developers across 27 teams -- one frequent and one infrequent user per team -- we demonstrate that differences in usage result primarily from how developers perceive the tool (as a collaborator vs. feature), their engagement approach (experimental vs. conservative), and how they respond when encountering challenges (with adaptive persistence vs. quick abandonment). Our findings imply that widespread organizational expectations for rapid productivity gains without sufficient investment in learning support creates a "Productivity Pressure Paradox," undermining the very productivity benefits that motivate adoption.

子が使っている古いパソコンのWindowsを11にアップグレードしてから、もたつきが著しいのみならず、管理画面にたどり着けない、ハッキングでもされたかのような異常な挙動をする、など、なにかと使いものにならなくなったので、Windowsを捨ててLubuntuを入れた。

新しいパソコンになったようにバリバリ動く。テスト一環で眺めるYoutubeの動画もサクサク動くのでよいのであるが、履歴のない状態で並ぶ動画は高市マンセー動画、野党涙、習近平悲鳴などの動画がいくつもあって、ちと驚いた。ここまでプロパガンダが浸潤しているのであるな。普段は履歴があるので私は目にしないような惨状である。こりゃ洗脳されるわ。
