今年になって、聖書とそのカバーを買い換えた。それがこれ。

正直かなり大きいので、普段は新約聖書と詩編だけが収録されている方を持ち運んでいるのだけど、僕の場合、スマートデバイスだと気が散るから、聖書を読む環境だけは紙中心。というわけで聖書の電子媒体は「読むため」ではなく「索くため」のものだと考えている。
さておき、革といえば創世記3章の「皮の衣」。人は葉をつづりあわせて服としたところを、あらためて神が、動物を犠牲として皮の衣を人に着せられたと書かれている。この箇所は「原始福音」と言われて、最終的にはキリスト教のメッセージに行き着くところ。本革の聖書カバーに込める意味はクリスチャンといえど人それぞれだとは思う。けれども、自分自身は「最終的には神の子が犠牲となった」ということを思い起こす物として、この聖書カバーを使うつもりでいる。
