Er ist ein Freifahrtschein für die Werbeindustrie, denn er nimmt pseudonymisierte Daten aus der . Schon jetzt findet ein massives Tracking sowieso nur über eine WerbeID statt, wie z.B. die Databroker-Files zeigen. Statt dem Einhalt zu gebieten, wird es legalisiert. Ein fataler Schritt.

I finally succumbed and bought one of these small TV things in a recent AliExpress sale. Out of the box the closed-source firmware can show weather, clock and more. aliexpress.com/item/1005005132

Today I soldered some pin headers to it and flashed it with esphome, using some other's prior work. Now I can get it to show whatever. I'm aiming to have it show the temperature from the Bluetooth Govee temperature sensor in my study, but I'll probably come up with other things.

Yay! My trifecta is now complete! My blue & orange (is it orange‽) came in last night, & I opened it yesterday, but I was too tired to post about it as I just got off work.

This blog post perfectly sums up my main issue with ActivityPub: I have Akkoma, Lemmy, and Pixelfed, but for some strange reason, I can only interact with Pixelfed. To have the best experience, I need to create an account on each server. With XMPP, all I need is the right client.
