@Em0nM4stodonEm that is a fair point but have you considered that data centers throw away an absolute metric FUCKTON of 'dead' spinners that actually just need the platters reseated and the 5 cent read head replaced.
i have wondered why more people havent caught on to this. i'm approaching a petabyte now — you can get them half off if you time it to DC refreshes.
