No PyCon submission for me. The conference falls the same weekend as the kid's HS graduation. I might try a submission to RustConf though--that's just conflicting with my birthday.

I was wondering why this crappy Nest doorbell never actually showed video once the subscription expired. I thought it was some network issue or bug with the Nest app, but nope it’s apparently by design. Pretty sure this used to be 24 hour history + video playback.

🤓 Friday fun fact! Jottacloud's servers are cooled down by something we call natural cooling.

As you know, servers generate heat, and cooling them down consumes a lot of energy. Our system is energy efficient!

The neat part of it is that it utilises the surrounding Norwegian cold fjord water! The water enters basins with gravity, and then goes through a titanium heat exchanger, providing our servers with optimal temperature.

We think that's, ahem, very cool!

Web archive people - been working on some interesting Brozzler stuff recently. I've been looking into some of the limitations in outlink gathering - the current system, which does a single pass of outlinks after behaviours complete, is a little inflexible for highly dynamic sites and I've been hoping to make it better at working with dynamic sites. Maybe of interest if you're using Brozzler for sites with heavily-JS navigation or single-page apps.

Since #Mozilla is trending today because of their stupid decisions regarding #Firefox, I thought I'd give another update about my moving to #Librewolf ten months ago, but sadly [happily] there is nothing to report. It's just been working rock solid. I don't see any AI things being pushed on me, just some regular security updates. No crashes, no issues, no mismanagement, no threats.
