This happened yesterday:
I was handing over a laptop with the BSD Cafe sticker to a student of mine, and the recipient wanted to remove the sticker for reasons including misalignment, not actually running BSD, etc. I tried saying things like "Steffano got the sticker from Italy etc..." nothing was working. Finally, said "it's his birthday today!" and got a "Oooh..." and the sticker was saved!

These images were taken by the NASA DSCOVR satellite, which is located 1.5 million km away at the Sun-Earth L1 Lagrange point.
This image of Earth posted by ESA was taken by the Meteosat MTG‑I1 weather satellite 2 days ago on 19 December 2025 at 06:00 GMT. It vividly shows Earth’s day–night terminator line tilted near its annual maximum of about 23.5°.
MTG-I1 (Meteosat Third Generation Imager-1) is located in a geostationary orbit (35,786 kilometers) at 0 degrees longitude, directly above the Prime Meridian.
I'm thinking the solstice might be a good day to sunset all of my open source packages. I've been drifting off that way for several years anyways--so it would mostly be a final acknowledgement of "yeah, I'm done with this." In the big picture, I'd much rather spend my time being a teacher of agency than the maintainer of someone's dependency.
