Ci ho provato davvero.

Ho indossato l’armatura della pace, ho lucidato lo scudo del “dai, ripartiamo”, ho scavato con le mie mani la fossa del passato per seppellirci dentro rancori, screenshot, ripicche, e tutto quel museo delle cere che ci portiamo dietro.

Poi però.

Poi arriva quello che ti guarda e fa… “perché”
Poi arriva quello che ti fa la predica… “non è giusto dimenticare”
Poi arriva quello che sclera contro chiunque respiri
Poi arriva l’ennesimo progetto nato “per il bene comune” e lasciato lì come un’aiuola senza acqua, un cartello e un mozzicone.
E in mezzo… il solito coro di fesserie da tastiera, roba che ti fa venire voglia di spegnere il router e coltivare patate.

E allora niente.
Mi arrendo.
Non perché non ci credo, ma perché non ho più voglia di fare da mediatore, da psicologo, da parafulmine, da prete laico della riconciliazione.

Noi andiamo avanti col nostro stile.
Con la nostra idea di spazio civile.
Con la nostra ironia, la nostra cura, la nostra dignità.

Gli altri… facciano quello che vogliono.

Io torno a fare una cosa rivoluzionaria… vivere sereno.

ICE continues to terrorize MSP. It continues to be distressing and exhausting; the incredible volume of counter-organizing and community action continues to give me heart.

One thing that’s not surprising but I haven’t seen covered much: ICE is redlining. They swarm over very specific neighborhoods; the abductions (so far) happen almost entirely within clear boundaries. Those boundaries don’t entirely correspond to where immigrants live. They do, however, seem to correspond pretty closely to •political• boundaries that are / are not heavily white.

The biggest change in my lifetime which I have seen and experienced was going from a society where most people had a base level of trust. We have gone from that to *everything* being a scam by default and nothing you see or read is real.

iOS 7 era discourse did us a huge disservice by not separating skeuomorphism from pre-composed, asset-based UI – think Photoshop-exported 9-slices at multiple resolutions. If you want to consider bringing back the former you need to realize the latter is no longer viable (device variants, a11y, tooling)

I understand the "Digital Independence Day" proposal as a call to people to change one digital dependency a time, one day a month. Indeed EU countries are not colonies of the USA as European countries did in the Global South and still do. But we can see many forms of neocolonialism. In concrete in the digital age we see how a dozen big tech corporations from the US dominate in Europe, extracting only for cloud services approx 250 billion €/yr

Both here and on bsky, I got crypto fans saying "ah ah ah zero knowledge proofs!" These are indeed used in Monero (money laundering coin) and assorted failed money laundering coins!

However, claiming *credit* to cryptocurrency for ZKPs seems implausible.

I'm actually looking into this and I can find shit that isn't proposals for other failed money laundering coins.

Closest a proponent got was, well, cryptocurrency *funded* it. (No examples, just the blank statment.)

So I'm asking those claiming cryptocurrency drove ZK proof research and uses: which papers with which effects and which resulting products are you thinking of? With checkable details. Thanks.

Statements of the form "the AI bubble will crash but the *technology* will remain" are vacuous. Stop making them. The useful tech is the transformer, which already existed and was useful. Generative AI brings no new usefulness to the table, even in business terms, without a VC-funded bubble. The same guys were making the same vacuous statement about bitcoin and blockchain. No tech from blockchain dates later than 2001. Crypto added nothing. Whether AI or crypto, it's a dumb statement shallow people make thinking it makes them sound smart. and if you follow up with "but it's useful to meeeeeeeeee" I'll just block you. Assume I've heard your excuse and it's bad. I can't think of a single excuse of the "AI is here to stay" form that survives the crash. Here's a catalogue: https://pivot-to-ai.com/2025/07/10/ai-is-here-to-stay-is-it-though-what-do-you-mean-stay/ even "the maths will remain" isn't for sure. ML as a research field has been heavily corrupted by LLM money, down to accepting spinning a roulette wheel in methodology. ML is headed for one doozy of a replication crisis, if they don't just throw out most of the past few years. Start over at 2022, maybe. AI is a room full of VCs who've gone from wondering who's the bagholder to wondering if they're *all* the bagholders meanwhile Jensen is driving off in a dumptruck filled with all their actual dollar money, whistling a jaunty tune.
