I've only ever seen round brackets contain parameters to functions.

I'm asking because plotnine code seems to do it, and I wonder if it is some special overloaded operator ?

I am conflicted on the Grok thing. We need to collectively grapple with the reality that this technology will, within a decade, be available in all consumer devices and on-demand in future AR wearables, however unfortunate that may be. It is more important to consider the inevitability of that and the implications and feasibility of building computers that cannot do that.

Our existing laws should be enforced, yes. But we really need to consider what winning looks like.

This week I gave nearly the same talk to amateur astronomers (Monday) and to professional astronomers (Thursday). It's super depressing, all about satellites crashing in orbit, pieces falling on us on the ground, atmospheric pollution and how the law really doesn't help us at all with any of this.

While the talk for amateurs was depressing, everyone kept their spirits up, and seemed somewhat energized by the list of possible actions I provided at the end of the talk.
