I think the appearance of free software really broke the oligarch's brains. People are just giving away stuff that should be Shareholder Value? And we *can't* buy it off them and own it? People are just running a compiler whenever they like to make whatever they want without paying anyone?

The push to adopt LLM-powered code generation tools is so frenzied and desperate partly because it's a perceived solution to claw back ownership of the means of production into the Right Hands.

Mon fils handicapé moteur de 17 ans n’a pas la motricité suffisante pour ouvrir la porte de notre maison au retour du lycée.

Je suis le seul capable d’être présent de manière récurrente pour lui ouvrir la porte. Mais je suis au chômage et je cherche du taf compatible avec cette contrainte : je ne trouve RIEN.

Donc j’envisage d’automatiser la porte (poignée + battant) : avez-vous des contacts de serruriers ou associations compétente ou autre ?

Dear Fedi friends, some good news:

Today I learned from @liaizonwakest ⁂ that the Parisian art space @palaisdetokyo is on the fediverse.

I was curious about the server it's hosted on, so I checked it out and more good news: there are several cultural institutions on it.

Turns out, it's an initiative by the French Ministry of Culture: a Mastodon server to share "cultural news in a way that is freer, open and independent" (their words)!

이런 궁극적인 범죄에 대해 극형을 통해 본보기를 보이지 않고서는, 국가체제 단위에서 날로 먹는 사태의 재발을 용납하지 않겠다는 의지를 보일 방법이 없다. 근대사에서 발생 횟수가 이미 이미 한 손가락을 가득 채워나가는 국헌유린 사태다. 사형을 구함은 당연. 하지만 작년 12월부터 각종 재판부는 상식적인 판단을 내놓으리란 기대를 좀처럼 갖지 못하게 하는 일만 반복하고 있다. 헌재에서 이 자를 파면하는 데에만도 납득하기 어려운 지연과 이해하기 어려운 우선순위의 판단이 뒤섞여 있었다. 1심에 전혀 기대하지 않는다. 특별재판부는 필수다.

holy fucking christ dude claude is frighteningly good.

It still *needs* an expert involved to be useful, but this could well be a force-multiplier.

I don't withdraw the numerous criticisms of AI and I still think this is a bubble, but this _is_ going to be a useful tool.

And it _can't_ replace the jobs of the people running it.

But it _will_ be a useful + powerful tool I think.

I change my view with the facts, and yeah.. wow.
