In simple terms, once again, why you can stick your “#AI” (more precisely: #LLM and #GenAI) up to where the sun doesn't shine. None of this is unclear, everything has long been publicly known and documented:
“#AI” is a speculative bubble that causes massive damage to the #environment and #climate; cheats people out of the wages for their labor and their art; contaminates and corrupts the acquisition, maintenance, and dissemination of knowledge like microplastics, not even stopping at your brains; and financially yields several orders of magnitude less than it costs. It is not even remotely viable on its own and ultimately hopes for permanent financing through the squandering of taxpayer money, as soon as “the market” has had enough of fuzzy promises of "returns", and no longer wants to “invest.”
You like “AI” because it produces plausible-sounding and plausible-looking bullshit and because you have learned in the 21st century that you can get away with it, provided you don't give a damn about future generations. In the end, you'll be left without even a hint of the illusion that immense amounts of money have been wasted here on something “systemically important,” as was the case last time.

Oh no! I just unpacked and tried on the sweatshirt. It's a different hue of green than on the site (olive), the writing is HUGE compared to my mockup so I need to stretch it out to get the message read, and lower on the sweatshirt. In short, a fail.
I used to create custom apparel at a local shop (always support your local artisans) but it went out of business after COVID, sigh.
I need to find a new one before FOSDEM. I'm on a mission to get this made 🥲

I've been using this exact distinction for a while now. Since Korean, my native language, has distinct terms for the system (런타임), the point in time (實行時), and the duration (實行時間), using a single spelling for all three in English always felt a bit blurry to me. This spelling convention helps bridge that gap and makes technical writing much more precise.
Personally, I find the meaning as indicated by Google's style guide the most clear, combined with an explicit case for hyphenation:
Runtime: use the system meaning. E.g. “the runtime was updated last week,” or “I'm using version 21 of the Java runtime.”
Run-time: use the moment meaning, but only when used in the adjective position. E.g. “run-time instrumentation is useful for finding bugs.”
Run time: use the duration meaning. E.g. “the run time was reduced by 5%,” or “a run time of five minutes is unacceptable.” In addition, when you want to use the moment meaning, but not as an adjective, this form should also be used. E.g. “typechecking happens at run time in our implementation.”

I mentioned finishing this book [1] recently. The book also had a final short section on the author's methodology which in some ways was as interesting as the rest of the book.
Basically, don't trust what people say, even the people who were there!
For example three participants in the early days of RPGs gave three different accounts of the introduction of polyhedral dice into wargames. In the end Peterson reconstructed what history he could from articles Gygax wrote at the time.
Anyway, from now on this will completely change how I read any book called "An oral history of...". I mean, I already knew that personal accounts of events a mere 10 or 20 years ago can be very unreliable, but it was good to see actual examples in writing.
