This isn’t “immigration enforcement”, this is straight-up kidnapping, criminal behavior from federal agents in open war against The People of the United States. This is fucking Treason.
Of course it’s legal to record ICE agents, but the same phone that documents can also expose you through facial recognition, location tracking and data access.

I wrote this a few years ago back before I joined Mastodon, but computers haven't gotten all that much faster and I think the numbers hold up. I assume we’ve all seen Grace Hopper’s classic description of a nanosecond; this is a list of human-scaled comparisons of various computer transaction times. If we scaled it so a CPU cycle was one second long, how long does it take to get your data from different places?

Last year we had federal agencies get deleted by badly behaved teenagers with no consequences for the illegality of it, but this year nobody will be surprised that the entirety of congress cannot find a way to stop giving money to ICE.
