In related news! I am now open to contract, part-time, or full-time work dealing with web (or app) development: frontend, some backend, and design. Please be gentle with me as I haven't worked in a standard corporate setting or have standardized schooling, but I hope you could consider me for remote work in junior (or other) roles.

I am in GMT-6 or Central Standard Time.

Here is my CV: misnina.neocities.org/misnina_

(I hope you enjoy how aggressively feminine it is)

Has anyone realized that you could post your videos to your Peertube and have YouTube pull them in via the Podcast RSS Feed? Or am I the only one that didn't realize this?

Which means you don't have to upload to YouTube AND Peertube. You can upload to Peertube and YouTube will grab it for you.

This of course only applies to those that WANT their content on YouTube. If you don't, that's totally fine. I'm doing this to advocate for the Fediverse so I think it's a necessary evil.

Fire in the sky: one awesome cover for a lovely issue of Dragon magazine.

This is easily my favourite cover of all the ones I've seen of the sadly long-departed Dragon. March 1989's spectacular cover always evokes images of Shadowrun's Awakening event, especially of the air battles with Fierschwinge as she appeared over Germany.

But yeah, gorgeous stuff from artist Denis Beauvais.

There's also a bit of a landmark article on Pools of Radiance, with AD&D video games truly coming of age to the mag's delight.

A photo of a cover of Dragon Magazine march 1989 issue, with a gorgeous illustration of a classic red dragon in a cloudy night sky as seen through the cockpit glass canopy with a bank of instruments and a joystick 'n; pilot in view, kind of like Wing Commander. The dragon is in the sights of a fighter jet engaging it in a dogfight. Dragon kill markings are etched on the glass.

RE: mstdn.social/@amydiehl/1159464

in Puerto Rico, everybody uses BOTH their parents last names. since everybody uses both their dad and mom’s last names (in that order), it is normal for Puerto Rican women to NOT take on ―in contracts and legal documents― their husband’s last names. it’s weird. it would mean cosanguity, not marriage.

i’ve read court documents from the 1800s and women in Puerto Rico always kept their maiden names. actually, court records will show “known as Señora HusbandsLastName” as one of their knicknames.

Dear Fedi friends,

I'm pretty fired up exposing the ridiculousness of , a new social network purported to be a European alternative to X that launched at Davos (yikes).

The French press devoted many articles to it (meanwhile: crickets about the Fediverse).

Before I go full steam ahead grabbing domain names and creating a web site that shows the weaknesses of W / suggests to check out the Fediverse instead, I want to put it to you: should I do it?

Thousands march through Minneapolis as anti-ICE protests continue

We’re getting more pictures from the demonstration in downtown Minneapolis today, where hundreds of shops, restaurants and businesses shut their doors in solidarity with those protesting the federal immigration surge throughout Minnesota. A reminder, this comes more than two weeks after the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent.
