Not to make it personal, but this was obvious to me as a kid, watching Bush v Gore play out. Once the Supreme Court can throw out the results of elections that they don't like, we're eyes deep in a constitutional crisis.

Everything the Supreme Court has done since is in the shadow of that inflection point in the Court's legitimacy crisis.

Our next goal for : end-to-end encrypted DMs Your private keys stay on your phone, relay servers can't read your messages. Works across different Holos relays using ActivityPub for transport. Falls back to standard DMs with other Fediverse apps, so servers can read these and we'll show a clear warning. E2E encryption over the Fediverse, finally.

I know we're all tired,

And we all wish someone would come to save us (anytime now), and that we could just ignore everything and continue life as usual.

But nobody is coming to save us.
We have to save ourselves.

We have to get together, organize, and take concrete actions to push back against authoritarianism and fascism. We have to fight for human rights, or we will lose them all.

It's exhausting, I know.
But the alternative is so much worse.

Anyone have any go-to choice for scripts to handle zfs-send of snapshots for backup purposes? I have a couple of hosts using zfs and already have snapshots set up, but I would like to have the most recent snapshot sent to another host (and older snapshots to be pruned from that remote host).

Doesn't need to be anything super-fancy beyond that, bonus points for just integrating with periodic(8)

I want to emphasize: the graphic details of what ICE did this morning are •extremely• disturbing. It is important to know what is happening, but that does not necessarily mean having every traumatic detail burned into your brain. Please take care of yourself, and be mindful of how you absorb details as they emerge.

He was trying to protect another observer, got pepper sprayed in the face, pistol whipped and murdered. This guy was trying to do the right thing and instead was killed by his own government.

America deserves the truth. He is a fucking hero.

I try not to discuss politics too often. I have filters to block it from my feed on Mastodon. But, murder is not politics and I cannot look away from this.

I have watched multiple angles of today's ICE murder in Minneapolis. I can't believe they are just murdering people in the streets for filming them. What this regime is doing is no different from what Iran is doing to their protestors.

They have already called the victim a domestic terrorist. He was standing there filming with his phone.

They walked up to him, shoved him, sprayed him with pepper spray, and then six agents beat him.

They claim he had weapon. Lets pretend ICE is being honest (even though the image of the weapon they posted was fake) about the weapon. Having a weapon is not illegal and it is not a terrorist act. If he pulled the weapon while he was being beaten by the six ICE agents, it would obviously be self defense.

What they did to that man is murder.

ICE are the terrorists. They are acting like the Gestapo.

The entire reason ICE exists is to investigate people who are in the US undocumented, which is not a crime. It is inhumane to give them weapons. It is inhumane to put people in concentration camps. It is inhumane to detain people without medical care.

I have resisted the urge to call this regime what it actually is up to this point. They are openly and proudly Nazis. It should not be taboo any longer to call them what they are.
