He was an adventurer, an explorer, a glorious agent of absolute chaos

When one of us left the house, the other would have to distract him. If he saw me cycling away, he'd run along the pavement excitedly. He would have happily followed me the 12 miles to work, loving every second

I don't believe in ghosts, but I make an exception for Norbert. He is with me everywhere I go, sitting on my shoulder, still fascinated by the world

J’ai encore tellement de choses à vous dire sur le renard polaire… et j’en apprends encore chaque jour.

👉Les infos de la slide n°4 – J’ai appris cela à mes dépens sur le terrain. Ne comprenant pas pourquoi un renard japait au sommet d’une colline, j’ai d’abord cru qu’il appelait ses jeunes ou son partenaire. J’ai compris un peu tard qu’il japait à cause de moi…
Même à distance, j’étais trop près de sa tanière à son goût, et il tentait de me le faire savoir.

Le dérangement de la faune est, selon moi, un problème encore trop négligé par les humains. Il est essentiel de profiter de la vie sauvage sans la perturber, quitte à renoncer à certaines observations.

By the way, the idea of one's body as a small animal is something I picked up from Mary Oliver's poem Wild Geese. I love both the concept and the poem very much.

The SFO Airtrain is by far the most confusing part of arriving at SFO. Utterly hostile user experience and design and poor information. I get confused every time, and I live here.

I remember arriving here as a tourist and going what is Clipper, what is BART, what is Muni? Tourists shouldn’t have to care about our weird systems. It should just work
