Glass rectangles with baked in cell antennas and no physical buttons have killed so much creativity in devices.

I miss the hell out of my Maemo-based Nokia tablet, I used the GPS on that thing to explore all of Boston that I could, I used the terminal *constantly* to SSH back home and do shit, even the mail client was eminently usable!

I saw that Maemo is back, kinda, as Jolla... except: "we continue the legacy of Nokia and MeeGo, driving mobile innovation into the human-centric AI era."

SHC is a sort of vibes-based programmable #FantasyComputer designed to mimic my own experiences getting a second-hand computer too crappy to run graphical games.

Inside Second Hand Computer you will find a pile of random text games I've made, from the very simple (Hangman and 2048) to the gimicky (Wargames) to larger original projects such as Swords of Freeport and BOOTLEG.

You can even code your own games for it in Lua.

@delta_veeRaymond Neilson @SnoopJ @mcc not sure if anyone is interested in the resolution here, but I eventually decided to take a chance on this instead <https://amzn.to/46hJoLZ>, and I've been surprisingly pleased so far. the trackball tracking is kind of shit, but it *is* better than a cheap trackpad, it is "good enough", the scroll wheel is better than just good enough, and it has a proper ergo split. the extra width from the numpad also makes it sit very comfortably on my (unfortunately large) lap
