일본서 서울의 봄 전두광이 인기가 있단 건......근데 그냥 뭐 실감을 못 해봐서일 수도 있죠.....우리도 루이 16세를 죽인 건 뭐 그럴 필요까지 있었을까....했다가 내란 겪고 루이를 안 죽이면 혁명이 죽는다. 그는 죽어야 한다! 루이 17세? 혁명을 위한 희생이었다, 어린 민중의 피가 더 전부터 더 많이 흘렀다! 가 더 대세가 되었듯이.....정말 겪어보고 실감해야 느껴지는 것들이 있고 일본은 아직 민주주의에 대한 위협을 실감해본 세대가 없어서 그냥 픽션으로만 대하니 전두광이 그저 쿨한 캐릭터로만 보이는가 보죠......

Swift concurrency nOOb question: if you're using Approachable Concurrency and you get warnings about using Sendable structs in non-main-actor contexts, is the recommended workaround to mark them as nonisolated?

Also, it seems odd to me that marking a struct as Sendable doesn't already exempt it from default MainActor isolation. Is there a good reason why you'd want to limit Sendable types to MainActor?

Thursday night drama, now with a happy ending 🚆

At one point it looked like we’d be on buses all the way from Prague to Brussels, which was… not the plan. Then, against the odds, they fixed the train. Suddenly a platform was announced, the Night Train rolled in, and off we went, about 3.5 hours late but very much back on track.

I’d already started plotting hotels and a daytime backup route, so this felt like a proper railway miracle.

#ChatControl 1.0 is supposed to expire in April, but the European Commission wants to allow companies the indiscriminate scanning of private messages for two more years.

For multiple years at #FreedomNotFear, participants discussed that this is disproportionate mass surveillance and should be stopped. Activists are now calling on members of the European Parliament to reject the extension proposed by the Commission. What about you?

I hope that this gets through to Tim Apple but I suspect it won't. I don't think that Tim believes he is doing anything wrong. My own hypothesis about his behavior is that he regards himself as a sort of sin-eater for engineers and designers, the ghoul who has to appease authoritarians to allow the creative innovators under his protection to create our salvation through product development.

As we guessed, it seems that despite Google saying they were not making recordings of people's voices and mining them for advertisers, they were doing exactly that.

If it was a colleague caught wiretapping the workplace, we'd have them sacked and never speak to nor trust them again. In the case of Google, it's even more personal.

No Google service is free. We are the terrain they extract from. We always pay.

This morning I turned on the coffee machine and made my espresso.
Then I turned it off and organized the rest of breakfast.
After that, I turned the coffee machine on (hey, it warmed up instantly!) and looked for my favorite cup, but I couldn’t find it.
Weird, I was sure it was in the dishwasher, clean.

Then I looked at the table and saw my lovely hot espresso already waiting for me.

If this is how the week starts, I’m not sure I want to imagine how it’s going to continue 😆
