While I am on "gardening leave", I am finally taking the opportunity to try and get off Evernote. I've been an Evernote user since 2009, and I use it every day for work and life, so this is a big move. I really want to stick with the folders and stacks layout that Evernote has (hey, I like structure) and so far Joplin seems like a good option. It's open source and they also seem very active on the fediverse (

I missed this but Gentoo Linux allows you to bootstrap the rustc compiler using a regular C++ compiler via mrustc. You should be able to build the entire Rust toolchain from source without having to rely on a rustc binary distribution if you wish so.

It seems as though some vendor in Hong Kong may have managed to assign 20-30 orders of widgets (no idea what) to my Shop account. I see various order shipping details (UPS/FedEx tracking) but no evidence of being charged anything, and the shipments seem bound for US, Switzerland, elsewhere in mainland China, Germany. 🤷 quite annoying. No obvious way to contact them about it other than marking “not my order” against each one.
