I've been working (well, whenever I have the time between work and my child) on a Mastodon client called Coho (https://coho.place)! This is based on an old client I built a few years back, but completely rebuilt with a new name, etc. Coho is still early and you will encounter bugs, but if you're looking for a fast, cross-platform, fully featured Mastodon app that just works anywhere and everywhere, even when offline or on a slow network, Coho is what you're looking for! i'm thinking about writing a zine reference for CORS, XSS, CSP, CSRF, etc because all the acronyms feel so impossible to remember and it's so useful to know the basics
but.. what is all that stuff _called_? "web security" and "browser security" both feel way too broad. So far I've just been saying "you know, CSRF and CORS and XSS and stuff" to people
also I don't know what it is about CSRF and XSS and CORS and CSP etc that make it so hard to remember what they mean, I think it's partly that they all sound exactly the same. Like
- in CSRF the CS is for "cross-site"
- but in XSS "cross-site" is "XS"
- but in CSP the "CS" is for "content security"
- also in CORS the "CO" is for "cross origin" which is like cross site but a little different

Note that PDM doesn't support `npx`-style tool runners yet, so this has to be `uvx` or `uv tool run`, but it should get you the latest pre-alpha of Arcalibre.
That in turn will quite likely fail due to missing runtime dependencies that `uvx` doesn't know how to provide, but I'm quite curious to see how it fails if you're willing to give it a go!

Here's a tale of how nature triumphs in the end.
Steel mills dumped molten slag in parts of Chicago and nearby areas. The slag hardened in layers up to 5 meters deep. These places became barren wastelands. Other industries dumped hot ash and cinders there.
But eventually the steel mills closed.
The deep layers of hard, toxic material were not friendly to plants. Cottonwoods are usually 30 meters tall or more. In the slag fields, stunted cottonwoods grow to just 2 meters.
But rare species that could handle these conditions began to thrive. The lakeside daisy, a federally threatened species lost to Illinois for decades, turned out to grow taller on slag than on topsoil! The capitate spike-rush, last recorded in Illinois in 1894 and considered locally extinct, was rediscovered growing on slag.
And more! Native prairie grasses like little bluestem. Native milkweeds. Even tiny white orchids called sphinx ladies' tresses.
A team of women ecologists began studying these unusual landscapes. They call themselves the Slag Queens.
