one thing i found helpful for structuring context is RFCs the "plans" folder usually ends up being noise and misleading after a few projects iteration. i've actually regretted every time i kept track of those. they become garbage in initial form instead, i maintain rfc/stage-(5|4|3|2|1|0)/*.md

Every so often I think about what it would take for us to have neat wiring in our machine room. So far I always conclude that it is basically impossible because we keep moving servers in and out and they don't all go on the same networks. We'd basically have to pre-wire everything and then plug servers in and out, and any way of doing that is both awkward and expensive.

AI deciphers fish grunts, knocks and growls to identify eight species

University of Victoria (UVic) biologists have discovered that even closely related fish species make unique and distinctive sounds and determined that it's possible to differentiate between the sounds of different species. The discovery opens the door to identifying fish based on sound alone.

The temptress teases. Pay no heed.
To touch the tummy is foolishness indeed.๐Ÿ™€

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to you!
Pax, the gang and I wish you a good Thursday. Please stay safe as you take good care of yourself, your family, and your community!๐Ÿ’–

Pax, our brown tabby cat with white markings, is lying on her side in her grey cat bed on a low bookcase by a window. Her floofy tummy is exposed, inviting daring souls to rub it. One long white hind leg is seductively sticking out of the bed.

New day, new arcalibre wheel for Linux/x86_84.

Like the previous one, this should give you a lot of errors at the terminal โ€” I'm working on them.

Unlike the previous one, though, this should pop up the main window even on systems without libicu*.so.

```
uvx --python 3.14 --extra-index-url codeberg.org/api/packages/rere arcalibre==0.0.1+f1412e4
```

[edited to add note: this is still deeply experimental, please don't trust your actual books with it yet!]

Iโ€™ve been asked on TV hits and interviews lately to explain why decentralized social media is better, especially re: Mastodon.

How would you explain the benefits of a platform like Mastodon and the fediverse to someone in just a few sentences? How would you make the argument that platforms like Mastodon allow for more free expression than big tech controlled apps?

Would love to hear peopleโ€™s thoughts! Trying to make my arguments most effective

@taylorlorenz The open social web brings the same benefit the open web once did: nobody owns it, so nobody can take it away. On centralized platforms, your speech exists at the pleasure of a private entity's business model โ€” they can change the rules, throttle your reach, or shut you down overnight. The fediverse puts that power back in your hands: you own your presence, you choose and build your own community with no intermediaries, and no single entity can pull the plug on you, or them.
