Sous couvert d’urgence agricole, cette proposition de loi est un retour en arrière dangereux qui ignore les alertes scientifiques et la volonté citoyenne. Le consentement n'est pas une option Monsieur le Sénateur, la démocratie repose sur le consentement. Nous ne consentons pas à ce que notre santé soit mise en balance avec des intérêts productivistes à court terme. Nous ne consentons pas à l'empoisonnement silencieux de nos sols et de notre eau. Réintroduire une substance bannie, c’est forcer les Français à accepter un risque environnemental qu’ils ont déjà explicitement rejeté. Quand le peuple dit "non" aux pesticides tueurs d'abeilles, "non" signifie "non". Un constat scientifique sans appel L'acétamipride n'est pas "inoffensif". La science est claire : Impact Neurotoxique : Comme tous les néonicotinoïdes, cette molécule agit sur le système nerveux central des pollinisateurs, entraînant leur mort et l'effondrement de la biodiversité. Santé Humaine : Des études pointent des risques de perturbation du développement cérébral, particulièrement chez les fœtus et les jeunes enfants. Persistance : Ces produits ne s'arrêtent pas à la cible ; ils contaminent durablement les nappes phréatiques et l'ensemble de la chaîne alimentaire. Pour l'avenir de nos enfants Nous avons le devoir moral de léguer à nos enfants un monde où la biodiversité n'est pas un souvenir dans les livres. Un avenir sans pesticides n’est pas une utopie, c'est une nécessité vitale. Soutenir nos agriculteurs, oui, mais par la recherche d'alternatives durables et agroécologiques, pas par la fuite en avant chimique. Protéger le vivant pour garantir la sécurité alimentaire de demain. Nous demandons aux députés de rejeter fermement cette proposition de loi. You where all thinking it. And the answer is 'yes!'. Yes you can totally LASER engrave a banana to exfiltrate data from your secured premises. Just out of the machine the text is barely noticable. But the next morning? Clear as day.

@nicebyte @valpackettVal Packett 🧉 For one thing, a lot of that bindful hardware was still very relevant 10 years ago when Vulkan was being designed and running on current hardware was a design goal. Sure, that might not have mattered as much for AMD or Nvidia but we weren't going to just leave Intel and the entire mobile space behind.

(And even for AMD and Nvidia, they were both just barely phasing out support for that hardware. Fermi and R600 both went EOL/legacy around the time of the Vulkan launch. Neither of those could do bindless.)

The second problem is that we didn't really understand what we were designing to. The mobile bindless designs didn't exist yet or were very early prototypes back then. The DX12 model existed in theory but we (the industry) had zero experience with it in production. About the only next-gen thing we did have was console APIs and those were AMD-only. Vulkan 1.0 was a generalization of those APIs.

The third thing is that we didn't know how to make it fast. Descriptor sets let you hide everything, giving the driver developers a lot of options when it comes to how we optimize and try to make descriptors fast. We've learned a lot in the last 10 years about what matters for speed and what doesn't. If we had designed something without that knowledge, we probably would have screwed it up worse. Descriptor sets were a safe bet.

Forth, descriptor heaps build on a lot of API concepts we didn't have back in Vulkan 1.0 like buffer device address and untyped pointers. Could we have built something like heaps without those concepts? Yes. But it wouldn't be nearly as clean as the API we ended up with.

And even today, we're not rolling out heaps everywhere. It'll be ubiquitous on desktop soon enough but there are mobile/embedded parts that are still very relevant but which can't do heaps. Do you need to care about those for your next AAA game? Probably not but part of Vulkan's promise is to be cross-platform and that means not leaving half of the industry in the cold.

Ruská tajná služba FSB dnes oznámila zatčení muže, který podle ní v pátek postřelil zástupce šéfa ruské vojenské rozvědky GRU Vladimira Alexejeva. Informovala o tom agentura Interfax. Ruský občan byl podle FSB zadržen v Dubaji a Spojené arabské emiráty ho předaly ruské straně. Další dva ruské občany tajná služba označila za spolupachatele.

Und nochmal: wenn in einer Gruppe von 7 Leuten in einer Abstimmung 4 dafür stimmen, die anderen 3 in Zukunft als persönliche Sklaven zu halten und sie ihrer Rechte zu berauben, dann nennen wir das nicht demokratisch¹, wir haben da so Sachen wie Minder­heiten­schutz und Menschen­rechte.

Und wenn die 4 danach beschließen, alle Entscheidungs­gewalt auf einen von ihnen zu übertragen und ihr Recht auf Abstimmung aufzugeben, ist das nur konsequent.

Deswegen ist faschistische und andere autoritäre Parteien verbieten durch und durch demokratisch und daß irgendwer² die ja wählen würde kein Gegenargument.

Eine Mehrheitsdiktatur ist keine Demokratie.
