Okay guys, here's my second Rave post. This is some of my favorite posts of people at the Rave that I took. I really enjoy these. I get to have a real rich awesome group of people with different looks and style and attitude and everything and it's really awesome. I'm super super grateful. I know I'm kind of just word vomiting but I just want you guys to understand that when I go to these places it's like as much of a social event as it is a music event and it's such a great Fusion at its core!

AI might not be taking jobs at the moment — but many people already fear it.

In our new preprint (experiment + large panel study), we examine why.

Drawing on Integrated Fear Acquisition Theory and the Technology Acceptance Model, we show that simply framing AI as being “in control” increases job replacement anxiety — especially when AI is seen as highly useful (ease of use didn’t matter).

인스타에서 데드리프트 영상 보고 암걸릴뻔... 이게 여자용 운동이 따로 있다는거처럼 알려줘서 "데드리프트는 엉덩이 운동이다"라고 이상하게 가르쳐주는 애들이 있나본데-_-; 둔근/햄스트링을 자극 주려면 루마니안 데드리프트를 할거면 가동범위를 제한해서 통제된 무게로 하는게 맞지만, 얼마나 이상하게 가르쳐놨으면 컨벤셔널 가동 범위로 무리한 무게를 루마니안 하듯 하고 있음... 상대적으로 저중량이라 그냥 허리 아프고 말았지 저러다 진짜 심하게 다칠텐데;;;

最近路過一些賣 iPhone 的店面都在納悶 iPhone 17 Pro 的海報字體怎麼都醜成那樣，原本以為是經銷商自己搞的，但連台北的蘋果專賣店都這樣，好奇一查 apple.com 官網才知道還真的是蘋果自己搞的……而且還是全世界的蘋果都統一使用這個爛品味字體……

這品牌已經跟美學與設計品味完全搭不上邊了，還覺得美的話已經是感情因素了吧，實在太慘了……連支那那幾個大品牌都贏不了的不忍直視……跟目前就我所知的科技巨頭中一比，我覺得只贏設計品味永遠墊底的 Oracle 一點點，降到跟那個所有服務的 logo 都要紅黃藍綠用好用滿的 Google 差不多等級。

▪ Letošní návrh rozpočtu ministerstva obrany ve výši 154,79 miliardy korun je sice o 21 miliard korun nižší než původní návrh předchozí vlády Petra Fialy (ODS), Zůna se ale odkázal i na rozpočtové výhledy na roky 2027 a 2028, které podle něj deklarují budoucí směr a dokazují, že strategický kurz Česka se nemění. s tím, že má rozpočet na obranu v příštích letech růst.

💬 Předseda SPD Tomio Okamura následně zopakoval, že pro SPD je nákup letounů F-35 nevhodný a příliš drahý. Počátkem února po jednání koaliční rady řekl, že zrušení nákupu stíhaček F-35 bez vrácení už zaplacených záloh a následné pořízení jiných strojů by mohlo být ještě dražší než pokračování v projektu.
▪ Nová vláda v projektu pokračuje, i když zástupci vládních hnutí ANO a SPD před volbami mluvili o jeho přehodnocení a zrušení.

Vláda Andreje Babiše pokračuje v nákupu amerických stíhaček F-35. Její šéf uvedl, že pokud by se projekt zrušil, vznikla by škoda asi 30 miliard korun.
💬 Bývalá ministryně obrany Jana Černochová (ODS) koncem ledna uvedla, že smlouva odpovídá standardním kontraktům uzavíraným Američany, úprava smlouvy proto podle ní není příliš reálná.

IRCv3 is shaping to be amazingly good!

here's the things it offers, today, right now, on a chat server we just set up in one evening:

  • you don't need a bouncer (friggin finally)
  • there are moblie clients that work well
  • you can see backlog when joining a channel
  • you can browse chat history
  • you can connect from multiple devices with one account and nickname
  • if you disconnect, your nickname is still present in a channel you joined, marked as away
  • you can highlight or DM people who are away and they'll see your message when they join (without crutches like MemoServ)
  • there is a "last read message" marker and it is synchronized between multiple connections
  • messages have identifiers (and server timestamps) and replies can be tagged with the message you're replying to
  • messages can be redacted (for moderation)
  • you don't need to deal with fussy nonsense like NickServ authorization, ghosting, or such; connect with your username and password and that's it
  • there are typing notifiers, if you want them
  • there are message reactions, if you want them

here's the things it does not offer:

caveat: since IRCv3 is a true extension of IRCv2, the features listed above work if they're supported by both the server and the client. in my onboarding experience so far, people do not find it difficult to find a suitable client, but your mileage may vary. on the flipside, legacy clients will work just fine.

unexpectly, i realized that IRCv3 can completely replace Matrix rooms for my own group chat purposes, and i'm probably not going to set up any Matrix homeservers again; it's just not worth it and frankly I should instead put that effort into coming up with a file upload IRCv3 extension or something
