Engineers are working longer hours, doing less fulfilling work, are expected to ship faster, often after their org experiences major layoffs, and the quality of output is lower.
Engineers are also understanding the contents of their codebases less, leading to "cognitive debt".

I've talked a lot about the 1915 Italian science fiction film Filibus. It's the one about the Mysterious Air Pirate who is, apparently, genderfluid and bisexual and engages in various heists and schemes.
It's the basis for my original fiction series The Mysterious Air Pirates and part of an ongoing series of Sky Pirate material we're releasing for Mountain Town Toys. Until today, there were a few ways to watch it:
- Watch it on wikimedia commons or another internet site without a score, and with stolen translated intertitles from the eye film institute.
- Watch a very poor copy with, I think, Dutch intertitles, which had a generic score and was floating around a few websites.
- Buy the bluray from Milestone and The Eye Film Institute, with a score, and with the Eye Film Institute intertitles.
Just had a sighted person tell me they often use clients and programs that were made for us, they don’t use screen readers, but they use clients like oh i don’t know a blind Mastodon client, or a text editor designed with screen readers in mind such as SonarPad, as an example, because they said, the interface is 1000 times cleaner, there’s a lot of keyboard shortcuts, and I never have to put up with animation nonsense. You know software development has vastly sank in quality when sighted folk are using blind clients. #Programming #Software

the sort of automatic personalization is another thing that LLMs bring that you just can't with normal writing. TRPL has some drawbacks to its structure that flow from "we need a very general audience and can't assume anything". i previously thought that was inherent and insurmountable.
i care a lot about learning. spent a lot of time working on this sort of thing a lot of people don't learn by reading tutorials, or at least claim to. that has bummed me out in the past. still kinda does, i dunno, it's complicated i do think there's potential here, though It's Complicated

在我們開始聊上一輪的第一個投資人的時候（大約 2025 年七月）其實當時我們的 ARR 剛突破 300K（三十萬美金），當時我自己覺得是一個值得慶祝的事情，因為 Zeabur 的第一位付費客戶是 2023 年四月的事情，相當於是花了兩年多終於達到的一個小里程碑，但當我們和投資人說這個數字的時候，大部分獲得的反應有點像「好哦，繼續來聊聊你的產品好了」（直接被當作一個沒有參考價值的數字 XD）
但後來發生了一件事，
