When I hiked recently on this mountain ridge, the evidence of harsh weather from previous storms was clear. Features were covered with rime ice, like ghosts frozen (literally!) in time from strong winds and cold temps in those storms, supercooling the droplets from the fog/low-clouds and freezing onto the feature in interesting patterns. So eerie and unique!

중동에 물건을 파는 한국 방산에 대해서 비판하는 분들 논리는 크게 틀리지 않은것 같은데 그렇다고 방산 산업 자체에 대한 비판은 어려운 문제 같음 이 국방산업이라는것이 정말 계륵 같긴함 투자/확장안하면 한국 국민들은 탈탈 털림 그러므로 최대한 잘 유지하고 키우는것이 맞긴한데 그렇다고 투자/ 확장을 지금처럼하면 결국 한국 무기가 다른나라 전쟁에 가서 쓰이게 되는 비극이 있는듯; 그렇다고 안하긴 어려운것이 한국은 외부에 물건을 팔아야 돈이 생기고 개발할 돈이 생기고 먹고사는 나라라는 근본적인 문제가 있는듯...

최대한 발을 뺀것이고 유럽이 먼저 해결해야하는 문제이고 등등... 근데 이란은 이스라엘이 알아서 해결하던지 그래야하는데 매번 미국을 끌고와서 ㅎㅎㅎ 끌려오는 미국도 문제고 하하... 결국 지상군 파병하면 경제는 망하고 트럼프는 중간선거 탈탈 털릴텐데 그렇다고 파병을 안하기도 어렵고 해도 답이 안날것 같고... 그렇게 될것 같은 생각; 이란도 그걸 아니까 그냥 닥치는대로 미사일 쏘는것 같고;; 이번 이란 문제라는 조별과제는 어떻게 될지 모르겠음 해피엔딩이 없는 시나리오 같은;; (먼산)

베트남전도 그랬음 처음엔 미국이 참전할 생각도 없었던것 같고 군사고문단 레벨에서 진행한것 같던데 남베트남이 버틸수 있게 해주려고 했던것 같고 하지만 워낙 남베트남 정치 상황이 막장이었고 수습이 안되는 방향으로 간듯 이번에도 비슷하게 가지 않을까 예상하고요; 미국은 그뒤로 좀 배운것인지 모르겠지만 우크라이나 전쟁은 그냥 장비와 인텔만 지원해주는식으로 간거라 이건 사실 바이든이 잘한것으로 생각함 이정도만 해도 미국내 반발이 많았음

Been thinking about someone's observation that one of the reasons so many people do so much in Excel is that it's actually a *phenomenally* observable programming system and lets people do things they otherwise couldn't.

I think, on much reflection, that this is 100% true. A lot of the bad things that people do in Excel are due to its lack of support for doing things better, but the observability? Top tier, with the next few tiers underneath it completely empty.

While I have no ill will toward the “ATmosphere” (Bluesky/AT Protocol), the contrast in funding models is hard to ignore. The fediverse's support from strategic investments in open infrastructure (like NLnet or STF) feels far healthier than ATmosphere's heavy backing from crypto-linked VCs—a sector often fraught with bubbles and social harm. I'm a bit envious of their smooth R&D resources, but I'm ultimately convinced that building on a foundation of digital public goods is the more sustainable path for a truly decentralized web.

伊朗攻擊週邊國家的理由，我猜是為了提高週邊產油國的軍事警戒等級、藉此讓石油運輸受阻，當油價有大波動，受影響的國家就會開始譴責美國發動攻擊，這樣伊朗就有喘息的機會。從伊朗的角度是一種圍魏救趙的計策。

石油價格對世界股市有直接的反應，即便是美國也不能忽視。從這角度看要說伊朗的行動也是基於了解世界經濟運作的理性操作。
