How the BBC chose to report on the US and Israeli attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Iran:

1. It used “dead” instead of “killed,” softening the violence and removing agency.
2. It relied on passive construction, carefully avoiding naming the perpetrators — the United States and Israel.
3. It added “Iran says,” subtly framing the massacre itself as an allegation rather than an established event.

It's kind of impressive how widespread is the view among US foreign policy types and media figures that you can indiscriminately bomb another country and they will not only love you for it but immediately reform their entire country to be accommodating to your whims.

Like, it's never once come true but that hasn't stopped them from insisting on it every single time.

Every day, when I arrive home, I give Max treats

So he's learned what time I get home and tends to be waiting for me. And he recognises the sound of my house keys and comes running (also useful when I want him to come inside)

Unfortunately, he's decided that, since he gets treats when I come home, he should also get treats when he comes home. So every time he comes in during the day, he expects treats

And he makes me feel so guilty for not always giving them

Introduction This time, the focus is solely on providing an update on my exploration of getting a Mandelbrot set renderer running on an STM32F746G-DISCO board. I had hoped to also cover “The Egg Project” and some Home Assistant improvements I’ve been working on. However, there is already plenty to discuss here, and the other projects have been moving forward more slowly due to a collection of minor but frustrating issues, from ordering the wrong components, to chasing down unexpected sensor behavior, to tracking a Wi-Fi authentication failure caused by a simple case mismatch.
