Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.

Hot take: I'm sick of coding my games "the right way". When I made DDGD I didn't even grasp inheritance correctly and just coded the game organically together.

For Marble Game I planned. I did things the right way. Managers, controllers, design patters - whatever programming technobabble you can imagine.

Now guess: which code base is more abstract, less readable and has more technical debt? Hint: It's not the first one.

@liaizonwakest ⁂ Hello! I hope you're well. Each rain in Gaza turns our tent into a river of mud. My diabetic mother is struggling without medicine, food, or warmth. Her sugar levels are dropping as hope fades. Your help is the life-saving medicine and warm blanket we desperately need. Please don't let us perish in this cold—your humanity is our only cure.🍉🕊🙏

@bagderdaniel:// stenberg:// IANA just published a new field for the security.txt (RFC 9116) format: "Bug-Bounty: True/False".

The @RIOT_OSRIOT team is receiving an increased amount of presumably LLM generated bogus vuln reports (though nowhere near curl levels). And since we deployed a security.txt, scrapers started sending emails inquiring about our bug bounty programs.

I was hoping that if that field gets some visibility, scrapers might filter for that before spamming the security inboxes.

@DavidDavid :SetouchiExplorer: here's my best guess: many people feel like they have a tight, cohesive community on the Fediverse. They think that if a platform federated, the worst users of that platform will be forcibly thrust into their community. I think it's a good thing that people have that sense of belonging. It would be better if they had more confidence that they can control their community connections.

@vathpelaFarce Majeure who do you mean by "us"?

You're not on the Fediverse because we all voted that you personally are super cool and we want you to be in our special club.

You're here because people before you were dedicated to open protocols and open systems and spent time energy and money to build the protocols, software and communities to make you welcome.

That spirit deserves respect and appreciation.

これは最近のエンドフィールド接写コレクション。
実写テクスチャを基本に作ってあるんだとは思うけど、しっかり馴染んでるし丁寧な仕事だな~って見ていて楽しい。
