It kills me to even think this but I probably need to put all of my projects aside to focus on film studies until I have completed a short film.

Then I can decide if I want to continue in that world or switch to something else.

That means no tech conferences or software projects and I probably need to be more selective about which live events are worth my attention.

This sounds meaningful, but not fun. What's fun is flitting between interests and not really making progress on anything. 😅

While sites like jointhefediverse.net can be great at explaining basic concepts behind the fediverse, for most people, this can be all a bit overwhelming.

The best way to get people interested is to promote your own community. Show people where to sign up, which apps to use, and who to follow.

My latest project can help you with that.

Hi @keithamus !
@JoAnn and I love your game

If I may give you some feedback, I will appreciate you add a specific # to share our result, so we may - kindly -compete on the Fediverse.

Also, the "right answer line" should remain until you press spacebar for instance (so people may find - or not - why THIS was THE answer).

Anyway, you've made a tremendous job, congrats' 👏

One of the challenges brought on by the modern world of digital music is that it's alarmingly easy to acquire music faster than I can listen to it. I suspect ebooks have a similar issue if you get into them.

In related news, maybe I should get less new music on the next Bandcamp Friday. But, but, people keep releasing good new stuff...

I spent the morning giving away cuttings and peach pits at a local seed swap. Immaculately organized, hopefully the first of many in the future. Here, as in most small rural towns, one doesn't expect big turnouts, but the folks that do come are usually quite engaged and eager for more good things to happen. One word in this thank you note from one of the organizers made it all next level worthwhile.

We’ve been saying this for years now, and we’re going to keep saying it until the message finally sinks in:

mandatory age verification creates massive, centralized honeypots of sensitive biometric data that will inevitably be breached.

Every single time.

And every single time it happens,
the politicians who mandated these systems and the companies that built them act shocked—shocked!

—that collecting enormous databases of government IDs, facial scans, and biometric data from millions of people turns out to be a security nightmare

[EDIT: now sorted thank you SO MUCH!]

Heads up my dudes, my son needs to do work experience this summer and he's a programmer. Nearly 15, can do 3 decent languages, main in Java, been programming since 4. All he wants to do is be a developer. Anyone offer work experience these days? Two weeks in July. London or Dartford way or anywhere in between. Ta! Retoots appreciated!
