Admitting publicly that you only want this bill that is designed to disenfranchise voters is necessary to make sure your party wins is quite a choice. The GOP has done away with subtlety and euphemisms and is now all "we need to cheat because the polls say people don't like us."

Mike Lee tweet. He's quote tweeting a tweet from "Leading Report" saying that Dems are now the favorites to win control of the Senate in 2026.

Lee says: Let’s turn this around—by passing SAVE America

Pass it onMike Lee quote tweeting MAGA influencer ALX saying:

Senate GOP, this is your sign to start doing your job and stop subverting the will of the people.

Pass the SAVE America Act.

Lee says: Republicans will lose power—likely for a long time—if we don’t get SAVE America passed

This shouldn’t be hard

It is, but failure cannot be an option

but IRCv3 still has no E2EE
i don’t see that as a real issue with groupchat in particular because the fundamental problem that E2EE tech alone dosen’t solve is trust. take matrix as an example: absolutely nobody verifies the keys of every single device in the chat and nobody will notice if a privileged server entity silently adds uninvited members.

you’re already self-hosting. maybe even via tor. everyone is using TLS with SASL auth. if you verify the server’s certificate you get pretty much equivalent security in practice, because the thing that gets you doxxed and v& isn’t the lack of end-to-end encryption. what gets you 100% of the time is moles, snitches, glowies and people with rootkits on their phones.

Most people don't know this but the state is selling the Bay's dwindling sand -- so that for-profit companies can turn it into concrete.

Bay sand not only provides habitat for countless creatures, but literally shores up the shoreline. We *need* that sand to stave of erosion and sea level rise.

So we're suing.

You do not have to use Mastodon through its official mobile app!

There are many other ways of using your Mastodon account, and most people who try the alternatives tend to prefer them.

The most popular alternatives are third party apps and your server's own website. These tend to have more features and faster updates. You can find out more at:

➡️ fedi.tips/which-apps-can-i-use

However you access Mastodon, it's still your same account and same server 🙂

Put differently: this is the Electron killer, for better or worse, and not in the way that Apple killed Flash.

When PCs ship with 8 GB or less of RAM, application companies don't give a fuck, and so we get a proliferation of Electron and Electron-like platforms that consume gigantic amounts of RAM. That won't fly on something like the Neo.

We love each and every one of you, but we would appreciate it if you could please stop trying to register for our admin chat server. We're a little busy with gay brunch today. Thank for your attention to this matter :blue_elf_nail_care:

Everyone has a MacBook Neo take, so here's mine.

Apple has, in my opinion, been a net negative for computing, and to a stunning degree. They've normalized DRM for software so completely that it will possibly take decades to get back the rights that we lost. They've used that power to make life worse for queer folks and to cozy up to the Trump administration.

But. There's something fascinating about the Neo.

A note about current events

You might notice that I don’t really talk about current events all that often. Some might interpret that as me sticking my head in the sand, being ignorant, or being uncaring and complicit.

None of those are actually true. I’m aware of what’s going on in the world, but I don’t have anything to add to the discourse on it. Instead I try to focus on bringing joy and positivity to the world - so I post stupid dad jokes and project updates. 1/2

RE: mastodon.social/@yayaver/11621

Listen to full albums, too.

Just listen: don’t just put music on as background noise. Pick a good album, and find a quiet place with a decent enough stereo or headphones (preferably not earbuds). Grab a cup of tea or a beer or a whiskey (whatever your sipping beverage of choice), get comfy, and really listen to the music.

When you were in grade school did your music teacher have you listen to music (say, “Peter and the Wolf”) and try to pick out the instruments? I hope so. Do that. Appreciate the interplay of instruments and vocals. Really listen to the lyrics (if it has them) if you haven’t before.

One of the tragedies of today is that people have basically all recorded music at their fingertips, but relegate it to background noise.

So ways in which masto is my favorite...

1. I woke up to over 500 notifications and just said FUCK audibly. This is going to be a whole thing. But no, it was just a wide ranging and interesting discussion about America's class and social systems, and how they terribly disadvantage most Americans.

2. I can edit my posts to clean up my terrible spelling

@swelljoeJoe Cooper 🇺🇦 also, not for nothing but giving developers slow computers doesn't really help them focus on optimization that much because developers spend more than half their time running (also slow) dev tools that they have no control over. giving them a computer that runs their tools slowly so that it will *also* run their output slowly in the hopes that they'll get *so* upset that they will torch their employment by yelling at their management is not a recipe for success

The Amstrad CPC6128 edition of New York Warriors was released with both disk sides containing the first side, losing a whole side of levels! Lost for 36 years, author Fred Williams has kindly allowed Games That Weren't to release the lost full version:

gamesthatwerent.com/2026/03/ne

It is thanks to Kevin Edwards that the game was preserved, after Fred sent his 3" disks to Kevin.
