Is there an elegant way, in the shell, to say “run this program until this other program is finished”?
I know I could run a thing, get a PID and then append a command with “&& kill pid” or something but that feels clunky.

added support for macOS to #puregotk in https://codeberg.org/puregotk/puregotk/pulls/43 this week I thought I’d give it a shot on my new MacBook Neo - and it works really well. Cross-compilation from Linux to macOS was super easy thanks to purego, no cross-compiler needed, just `GOOS=darwin GOARCH=arm64`. Plus, discovered that macOS’s arm64 library paths are different!

I am fucking sick of this kind of response from white men on mastodon who cannot possibly imagine not being the main character. My main patient chat is multilingual, and last summer I literally texted back and forth between a Spanish fluent friend and a fellow patient to translate a preprint about a rare condition for one of my patient friends in a country far from the only place that does research on her condition.
Just FUCK OFF. you are EXHAUSTING.
I still need to buy new lights (and some large-ish softboxes), but my new backdrops and holder arrived!
Slowly getting things ready to do nice photography of my glass over the next few months 🎉 - but for now enjoy a couple of recent pieces with some very awkward lighting.
