I'm having a lot of JOMO for wanting to write the best TUI harness/shell for some of my Pydantic AI Agents.
I have dozens now and use 2 or 3 every day. They all could benefit from the same features, but it's kind of a pain to copy/port the harness between them. 🤔

I just finished an amazing call.
The person I was talking to was trying to explain to me that Docker is an entire operating system, so he doesn’t want Linux or any of the BSDs, but Docker. I explained that, in order to run Docker, you need a kernel.
"No, you don't. Docker does everything on its own. If you think that, then you don’t really understand operating systems."
I told the guy that I couldn’t help him, since I'm not experienced enough with operating systems. He was a bit disappointed, but we said goodbye on friendly terms.
I'm used to recognizing when I'm too ignorant for the person I'm talking to, and I'm happy to step aside.

我已經把孩子教養得很好了，我還有自己的學業和事業，我能夠幫助很多人，我的生活也並不混亂，我可以並樂意做得一手好飯菜，打理植物，但是，就不要要求我洗碗疊衣掃地除塵規整和處理各種我不擅長的行政手續了，這些事情看似微小，卻會消耗我大量的精力。我真的做不到，我會很累很累。

Fascinating paper: Your Morals Depend on Language (Costa et al., 2014). People make significantly more utilitarian choices in moral dilemmas when the dilemma is presented in a foreign language, apparently because a foreign language dulls emotional responses and shifts the balance toward deliberative thinking.
It matches my own experience. Thinking in a foreign language feels like rendering graphics without GPU acceleration: everything runs on raw CPU, slower and more laborious. After a full day of conversations in English or Japanese, I'm physically exhausted in a way that Korean never does to me. What I didn't quite register until reading this paper is that the “GPU” doing all that fast, effortless processing is largely the emotional system. When it steps back, you end up doing more of the reasoning yourself. Whether that's a feature or a bug probably depends on what you're deciding.

Todd is safe 🤍 but we need your help‼️🚨.
Shelter life was very stressful for him. After his first clinic visit for a skin issue, other problems followed. He stopped eating, and whenever he tried, he would vomit.
Todd is now at an inpatient clinic receiving care. Thankfully tests show no serious illness but stress.

Travel update!
Berlin airport strike -> rebooked to travel to Leuven via train.
Booked ICE train (with reserved seat) to Köln was cancelled.
Follow on ICE train to Köln inevitably very busy; I’d allowed up to an hour for the connection, so it was *theoretically* possible to catch still pick it up… except that this train is now also late, as well as packed 🤦
Will get there, eventually! 💪🏻
