물리키보드가 있는 폰을 쓰다 평면유리 스마트폰으로 넘어온 그 순간부터 바로 지금 이 순간까지 나는 여전히 엄지 타이핑하는 경험을 좋아하지 않는다.

아무리 햅틱이 들어가고 반응이 빨라졌다고해도 평면의 적당한 위치를 골라 엄지로 타이핑하는 게 나에게는 고역이다. 열개나 달린 손가락 중 단 두 개만 사용해서 글을 써야되는 것도 불만이고, 늘 동일한 오타를 내는데 이걸 알아서 교정해주지 않는 키보드 앱도 불만이다.

그렇다보니 스마트폰으로 타이핑을 해야되는 대부분의 경우에 음성입력가능을 주로 사용하고 있다. 한때는 엘리베이터 같은 곳에서 이걸로 글 입력을 하고 있으면 사람들이 그건 무슨 앱이냐고 신기해 하면서 묻기도 했었는데 요즘은 다들 별로 신경을 안 쓴다. 음성 입력도 많은 오입력이 있긴 하지만 어차피 내가 손으로 직접 타이핑하면 그보다 더 많은 오타가 나기 때문에 오입력도 그다지 문제가 되지도 않는다.

I'm mentoring someone who's interested in and , especially in the space of and . His biggest challenge is going beyond dabbling in private to actually following through with a project. I think this comes down to finding good tools for "quick and dirty" work, as well as finding venues or communities for sharing his output and getting feedback.
