They claim nearly every line was rewritten by a human but I'm not sure how you could send a worse signal to your community about how much you aren't listening than having an LLM draft a post saying we're really listening, honest

LLM coding assistants didn't create a split between craft-lovers and make-it-go developers. They revealed one that was always there.

For craft-lovers, what's being bypassed isn't the output but the act itself. Marx called this separation from the act of production. But the alienation isn't coming from the LLM. It's coming from a market that penalizes whoever produces output more slowly.

A couple quick things to note:

- It says that while the White House believes AI output should not be subject to copyright, it also acknowledges the matter is *NOT SETTLED* and defers to the courts (this is increasingly my read as I've been reading more and more about the state of case law: FOSS projects incorporating AI output be warned!)
- It says that states should not be allowed to make state level decisions restricting AI. Once again, Republicans like to sell themselves as "states rights" advocates, but it's only when it suits them.

This isn't policy yet, but it's indicating where the White House would like to push said policy. Again, I would consider all of these things extremely unsettled, in the US, but ESPECIALLY internationally.

같은 작가의 『마션』은 여러 모로 이공계 포르노 같은 작품이라고 생각하면서도 재미있게 읽었고, 2015년에 나온 영화판 역시 준수했지요. 원작의 과학기술 디테일이 이래저래 생략되기는 했지만 그건 매체가 바뀌면 어쩔 수 없는 것이고요. 영화에서 과학 얘기를 중얼중얼 설명하고 있을 수는 없잖아요? 이번 영화도 비슷하리라 생각했는데 아무래도 예상이 빗나가지는 않은 모양입니다. 원작을 아직 읽지는 않았지만, 영화만 봐도 어떤 부분이 생략되었을지 짐작이 갈 정도였으니까요.
아쉽다면 아쉬운 일이지만, 한편으론「당신 인생의 이야기」에서 SF적으로 가장 재미있었던 부분을 두리뭉술 넘겨 버린 점이야말로 〈컨택트〉의 가장 과감하고 훌륭한 각색이라고 생각하니까…. 그런 면에서 앤디 위어는 확실히 영화화 복이 있군요. 부럽습니다.
