folk, I have a question that I wonder if anyone had a good solution for!

I have 6x smart lights in my kitchen, each of which has power monitoring... But I rarely (if ever) use them individually and in fact I use a helper to group them into a single 'Kitchen Lights' entity that I can turn on and off as a group.

I had a eureka moment earlier of making a helper for energy and power to sum their individual values into a 'group' reading, that I could use in the energy dashboard to see the usage in one block rather than individual lights... But adding these helpers to energy gave me an error about missing values (last read, measurement, some things like that).

Does anyone have a nice solution for a 'grouping' of power monitoring devices that would work for this? Kitchen is just an example here but would love to group up other rooms where I do this too.

Stop generating, start thinking! We do not need more AI code, we need more human thinking about the code we ship. Spicy autocomplete is fine but outsourcing our judgment is not. Especially since LMM are trained on bad code to start with. Do we really want to have them repeat our human mistakes?

Obendrauf steht Jugendschutz, aber real geht es darum Ausweispflicht für alle Webseiten einzuführen.

Einmal weil das bequem für eine kommende faschistische Regierung ist, und andererseits weil Einwilligungen zur Datenverarbeitung im Plattformkapitalismus so rechtlich bindende Verträge sind und das Geschäftsmodell von Facebook so Bestand haben kann. Das ist ihnen ja neulich in der EU weg geklagt worden.

Aber denkt vor allen Dingen an die Kinder.

Wir kommen seit dreißig Jahren ohne Ausweis und großartigen Jugendschutz im Internet hin. Wir werden das auch weiter tun, wenn wir Plattformen ihre algorithmischen Dark Patterns weg regulieren. Niemand außer Facebook braucht EUID Wallet dringend, und bei denen geht's nicht um Jugendschutz, sondern um Eure Erlaubnis zum Ausspionieren.

之前在杜賽住了一個公寓，那個房東應該是把頂樓小孩的房間直接改造一下出租出去給觀光客，所以本來只有廁所，可能本來洗澡的地方是用爸爸媽媽房間裡面的吧，但這個淋浴設備我還是有點omg讓人想起台北。

年假陪著二老，除了簡單的打掃整理，就是跑步、讀書、看劇，清幽的上半場。

邊跑邊聽張景森的訪談，從都市計畫的「偽科學」談起，喜歡他提到 （Compact city），如香港、新加坡等，因為人為的基礎設施集中，反而效率高，不像歐美常見的 garden city，對郊區野外是進逼而入侵的，高密度城市反而能把市郊的荒野保存得更好。

高密度城市往往也意味著政府的高度投資，因此 ，否則地價越來越高，不利於年輕人的居住正義。

正好最近日本也在展開「資本 vs 公共性」的討論—2024年獲得被視為「建築界諾貝爾獎」的普立茲克獎的建築師山本理顯，對近年來東京都進行的開發優先考慮富人的利益而非公共性，直言東京正在逐漸變成「富人的殖民地」。

延續上一則貼文泰國作家威拉蓬的發言，基本精神都是相互呼應的：

「⋯我們有飯店，我們什麼都有，卻沒有我們真正需要的東西。

我們沒有完善的公共設施，沒有好的交通系統，那些本來早就應該有的。我們應該有更好的學校，也應該有更好的老人照護。」

My own vision of utopian city should probably be something like Le Corbusier on magic mushrooms. Because it is something, which I see in most solarpunk concept art:

Unlike the modernist visions, based on strict geometries symmetries and precise planning, the basic layout would be more influenced by fractals geometry. The solarpunk city mostly raises from the partly abandoned ruins of 20th and early 21the century boring suburban sprawl, randomly acquiring land for projects of hi-rise wooden skyscrapers, funded by the continuous carbon revenue for indefinite storage of wood.

More wood you managed to use in your building, more funding would be available, so the hi-rise wooden structures, not really resembling anything else in the history of architecture, were inevitable result.

Use of renewable energy was not ideological, but very practical result of many years of fossil fuel blockade by the emergent semi-global powers. The waste heat of data centers was valuable. You actually saw lot of energy intensive activity on sunny days, while you could have done most of your machine learning during the winter.

If weather was favorable, the popular mode of transport was urban paragliding, with lifts running to the roofs of the highest buildings becoming important local traffic hubs. But not everyone was into paragliding, so local cycling and other forms of micromobility were still important modes of transport in that chaotic landscape.

While nominally the society was mostly opposed to competition, it was obvious, that some modes of existence were more likely to survive in the process of social evolution, than others.

Robots were generally not allowed in public spaces, but you could get permit if they were very cute.

It would be considered very rude to publicly display or reproduce AI slop. It was basically comparable to do sex or drugs in the public, which was on the other hand not so much frowned up.

The job of engineers is not to deploy some technology but to build robust, reliable and sustainable (in all meanings of that word) solutions for real world problems based on requirements directly derived from people's needs. Even for an engineer technology comes second at best.

조카가 신기한 걸 가져옴. 한 칸이 비어 있는 5*5 타일을 밀면서 가운데 3*3 영역을 주사위를 던져서 나온 색깔 구성대로 먼저 맞추는 사람이 이기는 게임 (루빅스 큐브 2차원 버전? 루빅스 스퀘어?). 그 주사위를 똑똑하게 잘 만들었는데, 6개의 색깔로 구성된 9개의 작은 주사위를 3*3 격자 모양에 안착할 수 있도록 굴림.
