TIL: Any energy company in germany can cancel your electricity contract, provided they have:
- vertragsnummer
- zählernummer
- name & address

So like, someone could steal your bill that's posted to you and cancel your contract, and it doesn't require any further confirmation from you.

Working hard on implementing a bare-bones version of RFC 7591: dynamic creation of OAuth2 clients.

Hopefully this helps generic fediverse clients like AndStatus to authorize users with based services.

I've had a ticket to implement IndieAuth for the same purpose since forever, but somehow this felt easier in the moment.

This reply is a blob of data I put into my PDS, and then you get notified due to the appview you’re using. But I could have just as equally created this blob of data and then sent you an email (or heck, physical mail) that said “hey go look at this record in my PDS” and that works

최근 접하는 것들 두서없이...
현재 사무용 노트북 달랑 들고 하얼빈에 일하러 와 있어서 그림도 못 그리고 제한되는 게 많아요ㅠ

일단은 현지 생존을 위한 중국어(추정 HSK 1급쯤의 바닥을 기는 실력),
덩달아 듀오링고(?),
한국에서 깔아 온 카카오로 보고 있는 괴담출근(극초반),
리디로 보고 있는 어바등(극초반),
이곳 땅에서는 돌아가지 않는 피크민블룸(여기선 걍 만보계지만 가끔 고향 근처 엽서들 구경하는 재미로 씀 한국 엽서들 보내주시면 좋아해요;///;),
2월에 후다닥 영화 보고 원작 다시 읽고 싶어진 퇴마록,
그 외는 전부터 좋아하던 것들(농놀 갑타, 수성건담백합, 언텔타룬 등)로 메인에서 별 변화 없음.

시국이 이래서 관련글도 씀...대부분은 사는 이야기 주절거림.
마스토돈에 정착하실 트친분도 찾고 툿친분도 찾아요.

늦은 시각 과연 누가 보실지 모르겠으나ㅠ 기회가 되면 함께 덕톡하실 분 만나고 싶어요...

Perhaps I should say here what I've said before in conversation with folks: I would actually love to join Bluesky, and I plan to do that.

Since the very early days of Mastodon being a thing, I could spin up a Mastodon server, and my friend could spin up a Mastodon server, and we could have a conversation without Eugen's infrastructure being involved.

So. I'm going to make a Bluesky-accessible account on the day I can connect with someone over ATProto, using the same UI and having a similar experience as someone using a "normal" (Bluesky-hosted) flow, without Bluesky-the-company, or any big company aside from those already implicated in Internet access in general, being involved.

Not *everyone*, some people are on bsky.network the same way some people are on mastodon.social, but *someone*. Today that's not possible, and to me, that's clearly a *centralized* system.

But becoming active on weirder.earth again reminded me that the thing I love about the fediverse, much more than anything technical, is the social structures it enables and, even, encourages. It is not just necessary but *enjoyable* to have a little online community that shares the same little island in a sea of similar, but distinct, little communities. It's *fun*. So much else about the Internet doesn't feel fun anymore, and I mourn some of that whimsy.
