1980s: I'm going to design my own proprietary binary file format using my own proprietary disk format for this one proprietary computer vendor
1990s: I'm going to design this really efficient binary file format for use on all computers. It won't be documented, but it'll be reverse-engineered without TOO much trouble.

This is only a start, since other browsers don't support this CSS yet, and Safari still doesn't support the 'replace' value. However, this is the kind of property that you can apply to all text now, and as browsers improve it will make the text look better.

i regret to inform you all that this is a joke that is so fucking bad that, as a sign of solidarity or perhaps hate crime?, my cishet ass has got to post this to make you all look at it too.
If you're making zines and books, and it's in the range of a few hundred copies or less, I can't recommend DIY enough. Each of our ink tank printers are about $250 each, ink refills are about $15 (and last soooo much longer than cartridges), and paper is $6-20 a packet depending on color and quality.
So each zine we make costs $1 or less in supplies (not counting buying the printer), and our 120ish page full size book is about $2.50 per copy.
