With the hype around https://endof10.org , I have a question about Linux as main OS.
I already know Linux quite well, but for my job mostly (programming). However I have almost no experience in using it for what I use on a personal side.
So:
- What's the state of gaming on Linux for very old Windows games?
- What about Photoshop and the Adobe suite in general? (Mostly for my wife who's an artist)
- Is there a non-Ubuntu Debian-based OS good enough for these usages other than Debian itself?

it's a documentation change to clarify how async blocks behave in regards to control flow. there was only one requested change, so i did a pretty good job of matching the tone and style of the other docs.
it was really easy to contribute once i found out how to use x.py. strangely enough, there doesn't seem to be an enforced line length limit (at least not for this section of the docs) so i just matched what the surrounding text was doing.
coincidentally, the contributor who reviewed my code is the same person who made the papaya crate i reported a memory safety bug in a month or two ago.
my changes are scheduled to land in rust 1.88, which should release on the 26th of june!

I needed a moment but then I told her the story of an IRC channel and how we made the day for a young girl who happened to be on our IRC channel. This is why fedi matters. Making news outlets immune to the influence of third parties over their distribution, letting the people decide what goes viral. Running their own news sites with #ActivityPub enabled, the public becomes able to boost any story we want to those who follow us. No ads in the way, no algos having the final say over what shows up. We just need better tools for consuming what's most popular among those we follow and paying journalists. #SocialWeb

Friendly reminder. I know people like to put emojis of stuff they like or are interested in their display name, but when you’ve got more than 2 or 3 of them, it makes reading your posts with a screen reader really tedious because the screen reader also reads out the coded descriptions of all those emojis. It makes it take a while for your screen name to be read out even before getting to the text of your post. It makes reading your threads unendurable, no matter how important the content is.

A VLIW processor may actually end up being the logical implementation of this. Who knows.
But the more I think about it, the more I lean towards a two-part system with a bunch of parallel function blocks that output one or more bits every cycle (each block having a bunch of config registers to specify muxing and thresholds and such), then a serial state machine operating on their output.

Because you're running on the output of the 8:1 serdes, your trigger logic is at 125 MHz. But the *input* can still toggle faster than that (remember the frontend BW is what. 300+ MHz?)
So you need to consider what happens if you have >1 toggle in that 8-bit stream of samples. You may need to advance more than one state in a single clock cycle.
