You should follow them. One of the mainstream protocols that make the Fediverse even possible, commonly used on Mastodon, CherryPick, Misskey, and Sharkey, is called, ActivityPub. They help write that protocol.

the worst part of using Docker on windows is that it creates a folder in C:\Users\Username\ named ".docker"
Why's that a problem? Because I always open a new terminal and do "cd doc<tab>" which completes to Documents.

It's good. It's not decentralized, it's still a star topology (there's still one "main" relay everything consumes from) and most of these are cheap by being shallow. But it's def good for people to do it
EDIT: The thing that is good is that people are running the infrastructure. I said above it's still not decentralized, and it *is* still decentralization-washing; that's the main risk of it.
