In a continuation of the daily amalgam, the "surprise, this is reality, really-really it is!", another substantial change of pace and place has arrived in due-time.
Returning to California, after one year and two states in-between, could only be induced by accepting an offer from Cerebras Systems - the supercomputing company.
The role is quite nice, as I'll be the first hired "Storage Architect, SMTS", focused on research and design of integrated solutions for Ai/HPC Cluster Infrastructure. Super fun stuff! It's really quite a dream job, and I'm very excited about all of it - more so than any other job I've had in the past twenty five years.
Perhaps not widely known outside of the sector, Cerebras powers research at CERN, Los Alamos, Sandia, Argonne, Lawrence Livermore, DoE, Mayo Clinic, AstraZenica, GSK, Nference, Aleph Alpha, and many others.

Here's a new javascript implementation of my #ilo vm, and #pali assembler. This will not yet run #konilo as it lacks the block storage device currently, but is proving useful for testing smaller things & fixes some issues w/the original implementation. I'm hoping to expand it to be able to run the full system this summer.

In happy news, `halt -p` now works in FreeBSD 14.2 on my Framework 13 Ryzen. A minor thing, perhaps, but certainly makes daily driving FreeBSD even more pleasant.

Mastodon에서 여태까지 Webpack을 쓰고 있었는데 드디어 Vite로 넘어갔다고. 지난 주였나 테스트 때문에 Mastodon 설치할 일이 있었는데 RAM 4 GB짜리 VPS에서 Webpack 돌다가 얼어버렸던 경험이 있다. 그 때는 “이야, 아직 Webpack을 쓰네” 하며 RAM 8 GB로 올려서 어떻게 해결은 했지만, 황당하긴 했다.

This is a party, and I do plan on posting about the good time I am having, but please don’t interpret that to mean that it’s OK with me, or with anyone else in the community, that some groups remain excluded or marginalized.
Glad to see this acknowledged from the main stage. Not sure if the graph is legible here but it shows that the amount of grants the PSF supplied to international events, particularly in Africa and Europe, far outstrips the grants given to US events. So the stuff going on at #PyConUS directly supports the community that can’t be here.
